With such a wonderful win yesterday and the week off. Could this be a good week to try and sign up Mark Thompson? Get all this background talk out of the way with no game being played this weekend. Then have a clear slate ready to attack the Preliminary and Grand Final at full pace.

All contract negotiations are being left until the end of the finals. The week off is a chance to prepare for the prelim, not get sidetracked with issues that can be handled when the job is done.:thumbsu:

Peter Jackson said today that Bomber had indicated he was at Geelong coaching for the finals and not interested in talking about coaching at Essendon. The way he was talking Essendon will have signed a coach within two weeks.

So unless Bomber wants to go to the Roos he's staying where he is. And lets face it: why would he leave now?

Put that thought to bed quickly:D.

Good luck over the next 3 weeks as the Lions are out I will be cheering hard for you guys.

GO CATS!!!!

Cook has said on a number of occasions that he is confident that Thompson will stay. Personally, I wouldnt be surprised if there has already been an unoffical chat behind the scenes about him staying, and he has told the senior playing list of this fact. No one seems to be worried about it, and while I know there is that whole "leave contracts" till the end of the season, there would still be some murmurings from the club. But there hasn't been anything at all, which leads me to suggets that he is all but signed, and just sticking to his word to wait out the season.

Costa kept Bomber when at other teams he might have gotten the bullet. I reckon Bomber owes him one. Although if he delivers a premiership he's probably entitled to see his debt as being paid!!
