I've heard there's this bloke called Robinho who wants to play for a team that wears a blue jumper. :thumbsu:

This little bloke called Robinho is also going to be on about $300,000AUD per week, more than what most of our team is getting per season.

So there goes that one out of the window.

Thats problem with most Carlton people, they want quick fixes. If Carlton trade their first and second round draft picks it will be a big mistake. I don't want Kerr or Brown you have give up too much. Carlton should draft the best available CHF, CHB with picks 6 and 24.

But those picks could end up being shit.

Luke Livingstone anyone?

Just because you have a high pick doesn't mean they'll be a good player.

At least if we trade 6 and 24 (assuming we end up where we are) then we know what we'll get in return.....one of the best players in the comp. and will definately bring us into top 4 contention.

He's still got another 5 good years in him, maybe more.

Yes this Robinho bloke is a star and whats more he wants to play for a team with a blue jumper. He is asking for $300K a game but I am sure he will agree to the fee we offer him. But I wouldnt mind this other guy I have heard off called Messie great first touch skills, quick on the wings prefers to play as a attacking midfielder and can score a heap of goals.

WCE are obviously making a grave mistake backing their recruiters in to help them rebuild ;):)

Brown only has a handful of years left so it could be a massive mistake. Some of our players should not be traded. Judd, Fev, Walker, Gibbs, Murphy, Kreuzer and Waite are untouchable.

Imagine the Blues with both Judd and Brown in the same side fully fit though? Holy shit batman!

If it happened, we will be pushing past 45k and towards 50k members next year and more sponsors will be clamouring to jump on.

Different circumstances.

We aren't re-building ;).

Getting Brown will put us in the top 4 imo. Especially if our youngsters continue to develop the way they have this year (Bower, Jamison, Gibbs, Murphy, Browne, Kreuzer etc.)

We can never have too many young stars. I would like to keep #6 but like I have said before will be a interesting trade period for the Blues. As it stands we are in the running for Brown, Kerr, Robinho, Messi, Le Bron s my question to you is this how will be fit them all in the cap.

Too many chefs me thinks.
Too many Cheifs Too many goal kickers and way too much talent.

Worse still I will not be able to tell diff between Carlton and my Dream/Super teams.

By the way hows Dean Cox going.:D

As has been pointed out before, we of any club could afford to have a late 1st round pick. What we lack is mid aged players (25-26years) both Kerr and Brown are in this bracket.

Yes we do need to continue to add good young talent every year but this can be done through rookie lists and good selections.

I am confident that if we do pick up Brown or Kerr we can still get some good talent into the club in future drafts and through good list development/management.

I also dont subscribe to the now or later argument in terms of premierships. If we get Brown/Kerr sure it would boost our chances immediately but our list is very young and Murph/Gibbs/Kreuze/Jamo/Grigg/Betts/Bower etc have another 10 yrs at least so they will still provide the nucleus a flag team when Fev/Stevo/Brown have finished up.

Anyway how good is it to know we have such bright years ahead:thumbsu:

Point taken but with pick 6, hopefully, we'll have either Hurley or Jack Ziebell still available and BOTH look to be bloody stars. :thumbsu:

Didn't hear the earlier report but there was no mention of this subject on ch 10 sport.

As far as Jonno coming to Carlton i'm as ambivalent as i reckon i could be. Match winner + leader + goalkicker + physical presence vs probably lose 2 young 'guns' (inc one of Hurley/Ziebell) + increasingly injury-prone + 5 year contract + salary cap/list management issues going forward.:D:confused::D

can't believe that some think that Brown wold not be worth our first round pick...proven elite player that would easily add an average of 3-4 goals to our score by kicking these himself or by taking the defensive heat off fev, go back though this year and see where those extra 3-4 goal would have left us = playing finals and giving it a real shake

that aside we would not get him with our first rounder and would need to add a good player such as Walker, mabe not such a good deal but only marginally so IMHO

I'd love him, but not if it involves any of Judd, Fev, Murphy, Gibbs, Kreuzer, Jamison, and Waite being traded. Maybe Bower too? Anyone else can go with pick 6 for him imo

Tarde him for say...Hartlett, Edwards, Hadley ( they want him back for some reason the spud) and maybe the third round pick.

give em hackland, saddington, hartlett, hadley, 2nd rounder and any other rubbish we have lying around the club!!

We need/ Lack:

A. A Key Forward to help Fev. Stop the constant rebounding out of our forward 50 that KILLS us. Remove the predictability. We need this more than a ruckman. Or any other position player.

B. Experience. Hardness. Leadership. Professionalism (notable exception C. Judd).

Thus, im all for going for him (if he becomes available).

Actually, I cant believe im virtually a lone voice here!

Christs sake.. its J freaking Brown we are talking about.

Worth 2-3 goals a game (easily). Plus taking the heat off Fev adding another 2-3. We have a glut of young players - we can afford to give away pick 6 and one of them FFS.

ok..

Brown wants a 4 year deal at Brisbane. At the end of the day, he is likely to get that.

This means that we will either have to offer him a 4 or 5 year deal on BIG money. Its arguable he only has a few seasons left of top form.

Is this wise when we already have Judd signed on for 6 years? Multiple long term contracts are the kind of thing that can cripple a club.

Proceed with caution...

Listen to yourselves ! It's crap. :thumbsd:

Why would we even bother so much with a player who doesn't even want to come. He wants to stay at Brisbane, yet everyone is talking about getting to him to Carlton.

Lets get some kids in the draft, get some players who want to play for this club. No more people at the blues who are playing for money ahead of the Navy Blue cause:thumbsd:
