oh and you never know about Ottens. He didnt have much of a year this year. He is South-Australian too. Carey and Otto think of what that could do to you guys?

How about Ottens for Johnson then? ;)

Richmond have an eye on him. Say a trade took place who in return would u guys want?

Well, I would be very surprised if Richmond would let Ottens go but if that is any chance at all then we would go for it.

I would give up Johnson and more for Ottens, I think his value is more than Carey.

Other options that I would like would be Johnson for the Tigers top draft pick (4?).

I would take Torney but I wouldn't imagine Richmond giving us pick #4 and Torney. And Johnson for Torney isn't enough for the Crows.

The Crows wanted the Johnson for Holland trade last year and I wasn't keen on that last year. But now that Johnson wants to leave anyway (unlike last year when he was contracted) I would be more accepting of that trade now. Don't know if Johnson is worth Holland and Torney but I would be happy with that.

What do you think Richmond would give for Johnson?

Marksknowall,

Some little gem - from Crows supporters - on this thread.

GoSouth
"Either that and us in a multi-club deal and we get Carey AND something else."
Obviously Carey is not enough.

Jars
Wants "Johnno for McKerrnan".
Yes, Corey is very handy and a great clubman as well.

Noddy
"Wants a top draft pick for Johnno".
Yet bitches about what North wants for the best player ever to play the game. Very apt name.

****
Hopes "Carey is not involved in the deal for 2 reasons -
one, I think we could get Carey for less" - and pigs might fly
"two, I think we would have a rare opportunity to trade a high quality player, therefore giving us a great chance at a really good deal.
"Johnno to Carlton for their #2 draft pick or to St Kilda for their #3".
'Quality player' and Carey is

As I said in my previous post - you guys are kleptomaniacs.
You want Carey - badly - but you are not willing to give up someone really good or really good picks.

You 'expect' Carey to deliver a 3rd premiership.
Will Kane Johnson do the same for his new club?

btw I hope this helps you marksgirl.

Well & a friendly hello to you to Michele, i take it you don't actually agree with the said comments but that is understandable so you have a nice day & come back again sometime,;)

I wonder if Michele is related to Suzi? ;) :o :p

Don't know if Johnson is worth Holland and Torney but I would be happy with that.

I dont think Holland will leave richmond mate. Torney wont probably go the power so it looks like the crows will grab him. Richmond may or may not give up Ottens. He hasnt been in any talk but you never know. The crows might was 2 tiger players and a later pick (not sure what numbers we have but in the 30's..40's).

If the Tigers were to trade Ottens & Torney for Johnson, what else would you be expecting? Another midfielder &/or draft picks?

Its not very often two players go for two players so probably a higher pick say umm 20-40 if you have one.

Question not related to this thread, ive always wanted to know but how do you do that - Originally posted by rfctigerarmy thing and then what they wrote in bold? PLZ PLZ i wanna know!

So Johnson + Crows 2nd round pick (no. 30) for Ottens + Torney. What does everyone think?

I'd be happy with that. I doubt that they would let Ottens go that easily, but tht's a good deal for us.

Yeah, I reckon it is a great deal, but as you mention, it is unlikely to happen. Great to dream about Ottens, Carey & Stevo in the foward though...

Why not demand Ottens?

Ottens for Johnson would be brilliant.
The Crows must make a stand and accept no less than a player of equal quality and worth to the team than Johnson (or a very high draft pick).
Why the Crows would even consider trading Johnson for a fringe player and secong round draft picks is beyond me.

you have no doubt been inhaling too many exhaust fumes if you think that Richmond would even contemplate handing over Ottens to the Crows for Johnson, a player the Crows have already conceded is moving on.

So because Johnson's announced he's leaving, he's suddenly worth less than he was before?

Theoretically yes.

As soon as Johnson stated that he will be returning to Melbourne at the end of the year, a lot of the power Adelaide had over what they get for him was eroded. Now their task is to play one Victorian club off against another to try and maximize a trade, knowing full well that if they dont sign off on a trade before the trader period ends, there is a mighty chance that Kane will end up in the draft, and picked up by a victorian club. Hence Adelaide will have to settle for less to ensure a trade takes place.

Obviously the good will of Johnson and the clubs Adelaide deal with will be a factor also.

If he was happy to stay and signed, Adelaide could push for more, as other clubs would have to convince Adelaide to let him go - because if Adelaide didnt get the trade they wanted they could keep him.

"Hey Dad...Kane Johnsons for sale!"
"oh yeah..what do they want for him?"
"Brad Ottens"
"HA...tell him he's dreamin!"

Thankyou KC!

Surely you wouldnt expect Johnson to be worth Brad Ottens!

Johnson + Crows 2nd round pick (no. 30) for Ottens + Torney would be the biggest trading blunder in history on Richmonds part. Ottens alone would be worth Johnson + 1st round pick.

Macca I was only joking around ;)

As for the Ottens trade, if we ever pulled something like that off, i'd dedicate my life to James Fantasia
