Kayo stream quality

Aussies just don't do internet streaming very well. The other issue is with such deep discounts over the years kayo have to save money somewhere and it comes at the expense of the streaming quality. The compression they use would rival your favourite pr0n videos from the early 2000s.

I had massive issues on Thursday night, couldn't get out of 480p. I have a gigabit connection and my Chromecast is wired via ethernet.

So disappointing Kayo quality has gone down. It's a great product idea but sadly they've decided to put less money into quality apparently.

They will lose customers before they action.

I use Kayo on a Macbook and on PC, both the same distance from the wifi source. The PC stream rarely drops out but the Macbook stream consistently drops out for periods of time.

Kayo works fine on my laptop but on the tv it's unwatchable. Buffers every 4 or 5 minutes and does the fast forward thing to catch up. It's horrible.

Hasn’t been too bad for me this year, but it had been horrendous this weekend.

Almost unwatchable.

How come they clearly aren't spending their revenue on improvements? How many subscribers do they have each month? Maybe 1 million? If accurate that equates at $30 per month to $30 million per month if my maths is correct. Yeah they have to pay the leagues to show them but surely not more than say 10 mill per month?

so in your version of Kayo, they don’t have any infrastructure, bandwidth or staff costs?

Kayo is shit and should be better but your post is ****ing pointless

Was okay on my samsung tv until this week. Gave feedback that it was crap and got a generic reply to clear cache, reinstall the app and reboot my router.

My router isnt the problem, foxtel is my isp and i get a consistent speed since not many people use foxtel as their isp and the cvc is not congested.

There is no option to clear the cache for the kayo app on my samsung tv, so i could only reinstall the app. It made no difference.

The stream either dropped out regularly and or was buffering so skipped.

It was fine last year and earlier this year.

Im about to cancel my subscription if its the same next week

What would be the motivation? Same to channel 7. 0 innovation, no reason to do it with long term contracts with the AFL.
The AFL need to actually specify expectations but they only care about money.

It's not only AFL. I have visited Kayo Facebook page and seen NRL fans complaining, NBA etc.

These leagues shouldn't sell the rights to an organisation who takes shortcuts, there should be some non negotiables

My app on my TCL TV is completely ****ed. Every time there is an ad break it comes up with "video error" (no error number) and have to restart the app.

It's gone way downhill since last year. I have worked out a method to get it to work, basically if you move around from one stream to another it crashes, and it crashes on any extended replays. Also TCL TV.

FYI the same issues are present with Binge.
