I would rather keep him than trade him for Collingwoods second round pick (28?)

If we had of traded for Bradshaw, it might have been a thought. But whats the point of getting rid of a forward that averaged two goals a game last year?

Also, I dont want Medhurst as replacement. He is a Hack. Would much rather play Stokes.

Yeah, we need more than pick 28. Medhurst isn't on Geelong's radar any more.

Sounds like the deal is just about done!

I wouldn't say definitely keep him, but don't trade him unless it's part of a deal that gets us either:
- a first round pick
- a player with serious talent

But as neither of those are going to happen...keep him!

For the love of god... has the world gone mad? I can't believe we are entertaining the thought of picking up Medhurst and getting rid of Dog.

We need someone who can kick goals and Dog > Medhurst.

Wouldn't surprise me if the club is throwing his name around just to give him a kick up the back side. Worked with Fev, Whitnall and the like.

Get rid of the showpony!
And take another step towards a uniform side full of medicore, medium-sized 'midfielders who can't run or kick?

What a joke.

got all of my memberships from the last 10 years in an envelope ready to send to the gfc with 'shove em up your arse' written inside if dog is traded

I have no doubt that SJ has a lot of talent. Those crazy goals that he kicks from right out on the boundary are awesome. BUT... I don't think we will get anywhere with players like him who appear lazy and IMO not fully commited to the GFC. If we sign him on there are no assurences that he will turn it around and be a bit more mature about his footy. I don't know if I would want to take that risk with him. Then again if there is nothing good to get for him then why bother. I suppose we will find out if he gets another chance with Geelong tomorrow.

Some might argue that Steve doesn't need to turn it around. 30 goals in 15 games is good output.

Keep the boy. :thumbsu:

That's brilliant! :thumbsu:

i was willing to entertain the notion of trading dog if it meant landing bradshaw, but now that that ship has sailed, to trade a player of s.johnson quality for pick 28 would be a freaking disgrace. I'd ditch Kelly and Ling before giving Johnson the flick. Anything less than pick 20 should be kicked to the curb with extreme prejuidice.
Maybe the club is playing it sly and hoping that Johnson will get his act together, now that the club has demonstrated its willingness to trade him??

i have a half written letter the the gfc on my desk...i couldn't finish it. i passed out. with rage.

will be sent if we trade him.

things will also be hit, and broken.
