Absolutely gutted. Trying to find a positive out of this. I suppose he's not gone for the year, will be fresh come finals. But it gives others a chance to stand up. All we can do is field a team ask them to do all they can and hope we come out of it in reasonable nick for the finals. Was thinking top 2 was looking good and this may very well slip us down the ladder but let's see how Jacky boy can do in the role and look to replace his spot. So many in the media wrote us off after losing Lecras and Niko, and yet here we are at 5-0. Fremantle and Essendon are games we are a good chance to lose before the break but all the others are very winnable. So if we go into the break at 8-0 i'll be very happy indeed. I expect this group to galvanize around yet another horrible injury and show the fighting spirit we expect from our boys. Go Eagles.

well well well 2006 here we come again - WCE and Sydney the top teams and most of the Eagles goals will come from the midfield.

JK massive loss (yess yess captain obvious). Lynch's time to shine. Bring in another runner and rotate Shuey and Masten through the forward line like we used to do with Judd and Cousins.

We'll be right.

Great point.

Our 2012 forward line is still 10 times better than what we had in 2005/6.

HF: Hill Lynch Shuey
FF: Cox Darling Hams

Just off topic, was thinking about this the other day..who would you rather have in the FP..Armstrong or Hams??? Thoughts..

Re: Kennedy Out for 6-8 weeks

what a major ****ing blow, this is just about the worst possible guy to lose

Hams by miles.

Can be selfish though.

I think we will look to get more out of NicNat / Cox as a deep FF.

Ideally I would like to bring in a smaller, mobile forward who can mark - Strijk or Weedon.

But if neither of those is in form, then bring in Sheppard / Stevenson and push Watters to HFF. You have to remember that the history with selection recently is that we have brought in the most in form player and then shuffled the squad. We believe in rewarding form and players that can keep the structure rather than replacing like for like, which is what everyone here is suggesting.

Lycett / McInness will not come in unless they do something in the WAFL.

Jacob Brennan for Schofield straight swap.

EMac for Brown.

All good

(Until the next 12 week injury).

Agree with everything said here. I think Sheppard will make the best 22 this week based on his WAFL form. No need to bring McInnes/Lycett to replace Kennedy however the point's been made that McInnes' forward pressure is very good...

Looking forward to Thursday 5pm when the teams are announced.

Jacob Brennan will debut this week, was told that today.

Fraser McInnes would be a good replacement for Josh he has good agility and can chase well.

The club match committee rate Weedon's defensive side so he's another that could be given a chance.

On a separate note,

Can somebody tell me what the chances are of LeCras playing this year? As much as the loss of JK pains me, I could not get over the loss of Lecca who is IMO the player with the most Xfactor in our forward line.

Is there a chance that he could make a quicker than expected comeback?

Brennan..Finally! :thumbsu:

What have you heard abot Shuey? Is he right to play? Are Sheppard or Swift a chance this week?

I have my fingers, toes and everything else crossed that no one else goes down this week! We are a proud club and we won't let this beat us! Whoosha and the match committee will sort us out!! We will be all good until JK, Nicko and Embers come back!! Please injury gods no more until at least round 17 till the boys are back!!

I'm sure it's been said 1001 times, but it sucks, doesn't it? Almost our entire forward line wiped out. Thank God we recruited Josh Hill.
I guess it's time to see what McInnes can do > Darling to FF and McInnes to take Jack's place on the flank.
It'll be good to see Brennan in - although the match is not on TV again up here - bloody hell!

Lots of people posting their plans for dealing with the injuries here.

My preferred plan is to wait and see what Woosha does and then say, `see, that was what I would have done`. :D

Is anybody regretting losing Callum Wilson now? :p

Was a big fan of big Willo but he didn't do the hard yards to get promoted and consolidate his spot when he had the chance. Lynch found form and Darling came around and that was the end of him.

How's he been doing for Port over in the SANFL? Had a quick look and he didn't seem to be kicking many goals
