My Tarot cards show Kingy playing 20 games and getting 300 hitouts and 6 marks per game dropping back into the opposition forward line.

Mind you, the cards also show Gardiner kicking four goals in a quarter against the Eagles at Subi. I think I'll buy one of those 8-balls.

300 hitouts and 6 marks per game would be pretty impressive!

assuming both are fit and up n running from the get go.

what influence does this have on kossie? what role is he likely to play in 08 if both gardi and king are the lead rucks?

Up forward. He said it himself in an interview earlier in the week.

you seem very keen on knowing what Kossie will be doing this year

he should be good for a couple of goals a game so would be good value in your dreamteam

They both looked pretty good on Friday, and it will do wonders for Kosi who can now play mostly in the forwardline!

Worth the risk no doubt about it.

Got him for nothing along with Charlie Gardiner.

Has had his first FULL pre-season for a while and was again the most valuable ruck.

Our #1 ruck no doubt about it.

give them a couple more matches and get ball, hayes and gram at their feet and they will help you guys improve 10 fold!

true he is a good player, i just think considering that you have had a lot of bad luck with injuries that it would of been best to stay clear of injury prone players

some very good signs from all those mentioned players last night.. very very very early on in the season tho..

Well, Charlie is clearly not a star, but he can play that lead-up forward linking midfield and forward lines. He looks fit and keen, has a decent pair of hands, and can spot a target. It would have been a tough gig breaking into the Geelong forward line last year, so the fact he couldn't doesn't necessarily mean he's a dud (Varcoe couldn't either). Time will tell ...

Talking about Chucky G is a bit off topic, but my view he takes way too long to make a decision when he gets the ball. I always thought this when he was at Geelong, and saw more of it against the Tigers. But his lead-up work was pretty good and shows that we have had a gap in the past (we've been too focused on kicking to Riewoldt every time). Hopefully when Rooey comes back Chucky G can remain effective and provide the wing option when we are bringing it out of the back half.
