He appears to be enjoying his footy a lot more this year in the South line up. South has a great depth of talls this year and it has shown in their first two games.Any thoughts on a 204 cm full forward from South Fremantle cameron loersch? Can take a serious grab

Agreed, Having a quality ruckman has released him forward and I think he's performing well interesting to see how he goes for the rest of year and if he pushed for the draftHe appears to be enjoying his footy a lot more this year in the South line up. Some insights to game Eastern v Oakleigh both full backs were outstanding Neilson did a great job on Moore holding him with smart defensive work and once again Beasley was very good on Petracca who really tried hard without good supply - I think information about these two guys will be kept very quiet by some interested parties looking for bigger bodies next year. Surely the Saints need to look closely at one of these two as the third tall?
Has been playing Vic Basketball last few years and didn't even play footy last year to concentrate on that, I'm glad he's come back though I'm a big wrap for him, if I could lock him in for Richmond's second round pick now I gladly would.does reece have a basketball background that might explain his excellent movement
How on earth did Butcher go at pick #8 with an awful ball drop? How was he as a young prospect?

If i was Carlton and we had 2 picks around 6-8 (Gibbs leaving) Id be picking Goddard and Jack Lever.
Wright and Durdain will be both gone by then. Goddard hopefully can develop into a KPF as he has all the tools, just hope he doesnt turn into another Jack Watts.
Lever while injured this year and at 192 is undersized for a KPD, he is an amazing leader by all reports after having captained Vic Metro as a bottom age player. We need more leaders at the club and think he would be a great get?
Who do you think Carlton will take if we get 2 picks in the top 10? Also who are the KPP who would be available around the 5-10 mark?
What are your thoughts on father and son possibilities Tyler Roos and Josh Clayton hear both are Brisbane Lions supporters. If we did look at them where would clubs rank them
Hi KM, in my opinion the Demons are way short of instinctive hard nosed players who play if its life or death out on the field - natural footballers ( football skills > athletic skills) who can really play the game 'in the head' as well as on the field. Reading your notes on the last few drafts I can see they may now have recognised this through Viney, Hogan (plays hard, can accumulate as high half forward and can crash packs), and I note your notes on Tyson say he is more your footballer who accumulates rather than athletic. You also say that Salem is tough, thrives on tackling, goes when its his turn whether being crunched in a pack or head over the ball and can accumulate. In general natural footballers tend to be more composed than the athlete first type - its as if its part of their DNA!! So its easy to see why they dis a deal with GWS. These are the types through hardness and ability set on field standards, ie demand other players go when its their turn. Its the old story - the first person to cough at the movies gives everyone else permission to do so - same on the field - first players not to go when its his turn gives everyone else permission do so. The first player to miss a shot for goal takes the pressure off the others to kick straight, etc. So you need hard nosed players to set standards and deal with those 'softer' players who
In hindsight they should have picked up McRea in 2012!!
With interchange rules being changed etc and athletes with big tanks in vogue there is sure to be a 'knee jerk' in favour of these types with some real natural gems left behind. For example rucks are out of favour as early picks so Grundy was a bargain.
I just hope that the Demons can get a good run of games with Viney, Salem and Hogan this year.
I think was a list management problem with the Demons. I think they had on their requirements list, position, age talent, character etc but forgot to add ' hardnosed', plays the game as if its life or death', takes a hit for the team, composed, etc.
Anyway given the Demons will get an early pick are there any players who will go early fit the really hard nosed type who will influence the team positively???. The last thing the Demons want is a very highly talented softer wall flower type!!
If it sounds like I have just had I big cry - well I just watched the first 15 mins of last Sundays game!!!
I doubt Salem plays a whole lot this year. Roos doesn't throw rookies in too early and he'll have to do it at VFL level first.
Watch for Angus Brayshaw this year. Best mid in the draft and is that ultimate strong bodied inside ball winner/tackler and has a nice skill set to go with it. Looks like the first picked mid and a beauty this year.
Would Dees go Mid or Tall at Pick 1?
Best available.
If Brayshaw looks like he'll be the next Oliver Wines and then some maybe they go for Brayshaw.
If Wright or McCartin or one of the other talls dominate and Mitch Clark walks at seasons end then probably one of the talls.
Whichever way Melbourne go this offseason they've got options a plenty.
I tend to agree, I think GWS will be active again come trade time. Unless things change dramatically we are likely to get pick 1 or 2 plus an end of first round priority pick. GWS will likely want one of the talls who are capable of playing Key back. They may have to trade up to get this depending on player rankings after the champs. Other clubs will also be lining up to trade with GWS as well. GWS have extended contracts of players not getting games. You can bet their contracts are pretty good. If the GWS want to trade any of them the new club will have to match if not better what GWS are paying - smart move by club and GWS.Honestly, if we end up with pick 1 it will probably be traded (unless Clark is done).
I extremely doubt you'll get a priority pick.Cant see us finishing anywhere other than last. Frawley will def walk and we'll get a priority pick as well so picks 1, 2 and 3 look like a possibilty. Would imagine we'd go wright/brayshaw 1 and 2 (if they are considered the standout kpp and mid) and trade out pick 3 to a team looking to get the 2nd most rated kpp.
You gotta love being a Melb supporter, its round 3 and we're already discussing the next draft
They will get 1 after today.I extremely doubt you'll get a priority pick.
They will get 1 after today.
