*Or it could be pick 6 given Heeney is a Sydney Academy guy.

But Collingwood aren't going to get the typical father son value. That's for sure. The savings grace is if not for Moore as a father son selection Collingwood would miss out entirely on those top end key forwards which is something at least and with Moore a strong chance to develop into a high level key forward it's hardly a bad outcome with no quality key forwards on the Collingwood list under the age of 24.

Isn't Jamie Elliot a key forward for Collingwood, aged 22?

The dogs won't have to use the second round pick on Foster. I mostly have Foster going 3rd round to the dogs because I imagine the dogs want to take both he and Cordy in the national draft. If another pick is used - then it's possible Foster and Cordy can be had 4th/5th round depending on how the bidding goes.

Oh I know we wouldn't use our second pick on Foster. Thought we could get away with getting him in the rookie draft. I was talking about our second pick being used on an outside midfielder like Cunico or Garlett rather than what you have selected in Vickers-Willis.

What is the knock on Billy Evans, hard at it, has Josh Kennedy like wide shoulders and is 189cm. Isn't that what many teams are looking for these days. I've only seen highlight videos but seems a decent kick, does he have a tank? Doesn't seem too slow?

Knightmare a question for you regarding Brisbane, if they do land Ryder and plan him as a key forward, does that change who they draft regarding a key forward like say Macartin or Wright?

Small marking forward.

The Dogs will likely look tall, for pace and for guys who can use the footy. Any and all of those guys could be considered.

Evans' performances have been a touch underwhelming for such a big midfielder. His contested ball winning while good isn't great and at his size that should really be his calling card and point of difference. Endurance does need to improve. Not overly quick. Can't at this stage play the full games through the midfield. Handy enough up forward. But just need to see him dominate games on a higher level than he does at present.

I don't see adding Ryder having any influence on whether a McCartin or Wright is picked. Ryder is in his mid-late 20s. McCartin and Wright like other key forwards before them aren't dominating from season one so I don't see any great issue. Brisbane hardly have a franchise quality key forward so there is always room for someone else, even with Hammelmann surely also selected through the academy system.

Knightmare, any bolters from the U18 grand final? I dont know much about him but Dan Houston was impressive

While I have long liked him Toby McLean put his name up in lights as a genuine selection and he could be that bolter as someone only invited to the state combine and not expected to go early draft.

Jordan De Goey and Moore both enhanced their reputations, with Ahern confirming his with a strong second half.

A number of others from today are likely to get drafted - McKenzie should get picked then Gowers, Sinclair and Pittonet are all chances from Oakleigh.
Miller and Goodyear should both be in the mix for Calder. Kovacevic and Rourke Smith are two from that team who should be spoken about more than they are. Foster despite being quiet and well held by an excellent Beasley is also a strong chance to get selected as a father son selection by the Dogs.

Then Wright and Cavka who both missed today from Calder will get drafted, with Cavka's other finals performances strong.

Does moores strong last 2 finals put him ahead of wright or go up your power rankings? A bit tough on wright as he didnt play today but his form was low coming into the game. It sounds like darcy moore peaked perfectly, which might also be due to playing full games forward. But I think hes proved to be worth pick 8 which some have been speculating.

It's a strong consideration. That whole top 8 or so I don't see much between. And with Moore it's really weighing up his upside v the performances of some of the others and the upside of the others which makes the calculation with the talls trickier.

Moore up forward is just looking better than he ever has and many of the areas I have identified him as being deficient in earlier this season and really up until fairly recently he seems to be fixing/have fixed. The past couple of weeks he has put forward strong performances and those finals performances have been big.

I'll next update have Moore somewhere 4-8. I'm just settling on the order of those talls and will some time later today/tomorrow watch the replay of Durdin's performance from Friday to see how he compares but I am inclined at least to move Moore ahead of Durdin at this stage with Moore clearly the better key forward of the two.

Knightmare, can you just tell Colingwood is getting the best player in the draft at no. 8 and move on?

That is all they want to hear
The problem is they're still deluded enough to think they'll get him with their second round pick.

I wouldn't take Moore at 8. Mainly because I suspect he will end up being a dour defender at AFL level and you don't pick those types with early picks.

I don't agree - his performance today was very encouraging, he was really attacking the ball well (which he hasn't really done in the past as much).

If he keeps that up he'll be a very good forward with his skill and athleticism.

Take it to the Bay fellas.

not quite sure what you're getting at here? Knightmare is a Collingwood supporter, of which you have a 20 - page thread dedicated to the second coming of Jesus yet you lot (not you in particular) continue to flood in this hard working thread that the rest of us would like to read about other players of interest. Im sure if we wanted a better gauge on him (Moore) we would be pointed in the right direction to said thread on said board.

:thumbsu:

Really? Moore played in the Grand Final today. The original question was whether any players had enhanced their rating in the Grand Final. Then one person asked a follow up about Moore. Yeah, that's totally flooding the thread.

Having followed Knightmares thread for some time, it comes up every two pages. Almost like people skip right to the end page before going to the OP, reading, then summarising if they have got answers. They take the easy way out and ask the question straight away.

Moore didn't see a lot of the ball but what he did was top notch.
Didn't do anything to put a spanner in his works today. Kid has tricks.

Most of the other players did what may have been expected.
Doubt anyone's prospects rose enormously on the back of todays GF

Moore is definitely better suited in the front half. Collingwood need key forwards more than key defenders so there is no question in my mind which end he should get developed.

I think the smokey in this DRAFT is Lamb wait till combine everyone will freak out his development scale is off the charts

Peter Bampton was interviewed yesterday and said he wouldn't be able to play for another six months. He will slide well into the 30s imo - will be in bargain land.

Ports picks:
Unique developmental player- De Goey tick
Running halfback/winger- Glenn Tick
Key position defender- Sean McClaren Tick

Those 3 are right on point knightmare great job. Maybe rose instead of Gregson but still fantastic effort

Saw footage of Bampton the other day. Jeez he goes in hard as anyone I've ever seen but his kicking style is very average. Looks like a player from the 80s. Is he worth any more then about pick 40?

Good description - his kicking is adequate but his strength is his inside ability. I have been watching him for a couple of years and thought he would come on a little more but he could still play AFL round one next year if he is picked up by a bottom 6 club.
