Who do you think will be the better ruckman?

Might not be easy to compare at this stage. While Ryder has been playing for 2 more seasons, he's played less games in the ruck than Kreuzer.

Both will become special players in my opinion.

Good poll, I rate them both very highly.

This may sound harsh but Hille's injury was a blessing in disguise for the bombers imo. I never rated Ryder as a defender, he looks like he'll be a very good ruckman though.

Kruzer has been impressing me consistantly for 12 months plus now so I picked him. The new ruckman Ryder is a very similar player and big futures for both of them.

as much as i think about ryder (good) i always think that kruzers has that little step more than him he can ruck and move like a rover if you watched the game last night against freo he might have been demolished in the ruck but around the ground i thought kruzer was making things happen

On pure footballing ability I'd go with Ryder. Brilliant kick, giant leap, smart player. Can play all over the ground.

Massive wraps for Kreuzer, think he'll be a star. Just think Ryder has it over him in most areas.

However, this thread is about the better ruckman. I'd put them on just about level pegging at the moment. Kreuzer would be in front, purely because he's shown what he can do over a longer period of time.

In the future, once both bulk up a bit more, well, it'll be exciting to say the least. Can't argue with my heart though, and it says Ryder, just.

Dont rate either's Pure ruck ability

However both are very good around the ground and both are probably the prototype "second ruckman" the one which can rest up forward and kick 2-3 goals a game while running around having 15 touches a game and playing as a link player

Massive fan of both players. As a ruckman though i would take the Kruez. Think he will be the dominate ruckman of the game within 3 years.

Kreuzer was comfortably out jumping Leuenberger at the centre bounce for a second ruckman.

Kreuzer's height, size and reach makes him a more damaging player around the ground than Ryder. Becomes a tall midfielder who stays involved in the play after the centre bounce.

A freak to be this good at just 19.

Ryder's biggest problem at the moment is getting his jumping right at the centre bounce. Against Collingwood he got it right but on Friday night he seemed to be going a bit early.

Worth noting that this is the first time in Ryder's 4 years at the club that he's been used solely as a ruckman.

What a stupid poll. Ryder is not a ruckman. The only reason why he is playing in that possition ATM is because your first two ruckman are injured.

Ryder did not play as a ruckman when he played for East Fremantle or WA under 18's. He was not drafted as a ruckman. When Hill recovers from his knee injury, Ryder will be back at CHB.

Having said that, Ryder's current form is very good. The bloke is a gun. He is doing the job that his team needs him to do.

Kruzer, on the other hand is a ruckman who has always played in the ruck and will do so for his whole carear. He is a natural talent.

Ryder actually played all his junior football as a ruckman, he has stated so himself. He was recruited as a ruckman then was put down back to fill our holes as we had Hille and Laycock rucking at the time. Now he is finally playing in his preffered position he is starting to shine.

As for who is the better ruckman, to early to tell. Both have a bright future ahead though and Carlton and Essendon fans would be very happy with what they have.

The ruckman who took his eyes off the ball and jumped early against our fourth stringer Jacobs is a better footballer than Kreuzer.

Now 42 - 22.

Go Blues.

LOL.

And I'm called biased. :D :D :D

Kreuzer's play to set up the goal to Cloke with a handpass after starting the play on the HFF with hard running was out of this world.

Kreuzer was the best midfielder AND the best ruckman in the 2007 draft.

That boy is a machine and shows no fear.

Id take Kreuzer ahead of Ryder in a microsecond. His skills are sublime for a big man and is such a good mark.

Cotchin is the best midfielder and best player from that draft.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Ryder's footskills are the best out of any big man in the competition.

Actually he'd put most mids to shame.

If you remove the bias vote, its still nearly double in favor of Ryder.

and why do you keep mentioning single passages of play to display someones ability? Last year Kepler Bradley wrong footed Judd and slotted a goal from 40 on the run! What a star!

Kreuzer. Ryder is, frankly, overrated but his workrate is second to none. It's amazing that he manages to lay so many tackles.
