Alls i can i say is i will be dirty if the crows do not win between 8-10 games. 2022 we should really start to see things that tells us that 2023/24 are the years we make finals. we won 7 in 2021 so we have to be winning more than that.

I've done the ladder simulation and while I'm biased to Adelaide, this is my ladder at the end of the finals:

Western Bulldogs
Port
Brisbane
Melbourne

Richmond
Essendon
Geelong
Adelaide

GWS
West Coast
Fremantle
St Kilda

Carlton
Collingwood
Gold Coast
Sydney

North
Hawthorn

Notable predictions;

Essendon are playing well and win their first final in a while.

Doggies win the flag against Port, who knock out Melbourne in a home prelim.

Adelaide make the 8 on the back of a soft draw, wins at home and away wins against Collingwood and Carlton. However we will struggle against to 8 teams and I have us knocked out by Richmond week 1 of finals.

Sydney go backwards

Carlton don't move forward

Hawthorn struggle to win a game.

That was fun, but the finals were over too quickly. We need to take it to another level 2023, hopefully we can trade in some real class.

2022 Ladder
1. Melbourne - should continue their 2021 form
2. Western Bulldogs - as above
3. Brisbane - as above with some improvement
4. Essendon - continue their rise
5. St Kilda - surprise packet, has the squad if injury free.
6. GWS - i predict a meh season for them. nothing outstanding but they just win enough games to make the finals
7. Port Adelaide - A season full of backs to the wall 'grandfinals' to do it for boak and gray to make sure they make the finals before getting torched in the finals.
8. Carlton - assembling a reasonable squad. can't be failures forever.
_____________

9. Richmond - dads army and without Martin at full strength will never reach the heights worthy of finals.
10. Gold Coast - A fully fit side should see them have a rise. push for finals.
11. Adelaide - Crows will surprise many teams while no doubt having some down times due to development.
12. Sydney - Sydney are an enigma. Cant see buddy being a force this year. means reliance will be on others to kick goals.
13. Fremantle - rebuilding. be a better side in 2023
14. Geelong - skiing downhill fast. terrible list and way too old.
15. West Coast - dads army and due to crash now. may push for finals due to WA home advantage.
16. North Melbourne - will see improvement, drafted nicely. a year behind the crows really.
17. Collingwood - hard to say really. are they rebuilding? i dont think they even know.
18. Hawthorn - lol last years North Melbourne coming at you.

Wow. If you get close to that you will be deemed Ladder Master. Some out there calls in that lot.
I probably had one too many hot takes in there. :)

I think losing grand finalists often go backwards - and the Bulldogs are flaky anyway - plus there's a few aging sides who I think could go backwards with a covid case or two. And a few who are ripe to rise.

But I'm mostly just trying to put a contrary view out there.

There’s contrary and there’s crazy. Carlton, Gold Coast and Freo in, Port, Bulldogs, Geelong and Sydney out is out there.

Fox Sports just released a luck ladder for last season where it had games decided by 12 points or less.

Port were top 5 wins 0 losses which inflated their position hence why they got found out in finals.

Essendon and Collingwood we're last with a 1-5 record

Adelaide were middle of the table but we had played in the most games decided by 2 goals or less our record was 4 wins 5 losses so that suggests we were competitive in more games than our finishing position suggests, as some could have easily fallen in our favour.

We were 4-5 in close games and 3-10 otherwise. We placed 15th but we were 16th on percentage. We certainly didn’t deserve anything better than we got.

Hard to predict. I expect Melbourne to be still up there but it all depends. Geelong have been pretty consistent over the years and will likely play finals. I'll be likely very wrong with my prediction.
