Happy with that Pamam, at the Start of the season, if I had been offered missing out by one game, I would have snapped it up without a second though.

I have us finishing 8th with 10 wins and the race being all over after Geelong beat North in round 21. Didn't really tip many upsets either, so 10 wins might even be enough to sneak in, really all depends on how North and St Kilda do over the rest of the year.

If we were to finish 8th and Collingwood in my prediciton-5th, we play them in the first elimination final which would be huge.
The winner would in my prediction would play Adelaide in Aami so you would say the season would finish there though.
But can you imagine a final as big as the blues and Pies

Wouldn't it be great for a hatrick..

Think we'll win 5 of the last 8.
1 Geelong 22 20 2 0 2548 1801 141.48 80
2 Hawthorn 22 18 4 0 2348 1903 123.38 72
3 Sydney 22 16 5 1 2206 1747 126.27 66
4 W Bulldogs 22 16 5 1 2517 2017 124.79 66
5 Adelaide 22 14 8 0 2176 1897 114.71 56
6 Bris Lions 22 13 8 1 2224 2081 106.87 54
7 Carlton 22 12 10 0 2161 2207 97.92 48
8 Collingwood 22 11 10 1 2297 2075 110.70 46
9 St Kilda 21 11 10 0 1914 1939 98.71 44
10 Nth Melb 22 9 12 1 2030 2174 93.38 38
11 Richmond 22 8 11 3 2154 2318 92.92 38
12 Port Adel 22 6 15 1 2070 2271 91.15 26
13 Essendon 22 6 15 1 1999 2434 82.13 26
14 Fremantle 21 3 17 1 1840 2116 86.96 14
15 West Coast 22 2 17 3 1777 2479 71.68 14
16 Melbourne 22 3 19 0 1777 2579 68.90 12

Its a pretty simple equation for us really. We need 11 wins, meaning any slip ups against the Saints, Crows, Roos or Power will see us fall short.

Unfortunately our finals fate was sealed two weeks ago against Essendon.

Losing to Richmond in round 1 didn't help either.

Just had a quick look, and have us finishing 9th with 9 wins, 1 game out of the 8 (8th spot went to St Kilda).

It's disappointing to possibly miss out on the finals, but we'll move on. After all, who realistically thought that we would go so close to playing finals football this year? Either way, the development within our squad has been enormous and this year has been a very good one for us.

I'm praying Collingwood finish 5th as they are the only team i see us knocking off in the finals.
However on my predicted ladder I have us just missing out on the eight by percentage to the Saints and Collingwood 7th.
So I'm hoping Saints can not just lose a few matches but get flogged - something we should inflict on them next week.

I did enjoy doing that....I don’t know what you fellas where thinking but without being to bias I had us in 8th spot!!!!!!!!

I had the blues 2 points clear of North & 4 points + % clear of St.Kilda!

If we beat St.Kilda & North - very possible, I think we then have an 90% chance of making the finals. - That will include us wining 1 of the following games v Port, Crows, Swans or Lions – Can be done! The only games I really think we probably should lose are against the Hawks & Doggies!

I think the key is St.Kilda, they play a few teams below them, but I really think their all danger games. Essendon can beat them & they play both the WA teams in WA!

Plus the Saints are rubbish so really they can be beaten on any day!

Therefore the first final I had would be Collingwood v Carlton – nice one!!

What it comes down to is beating the teams whom we are competing with for 8th spot.

That means beating Noth and St Kilda, and that won't be easy.

Then we have to make sure we consolidate against Port.

Good thing is , we seem to match up well against the Dogs . Don't write this game off . Had a funny feeling all season that we will beat the Hawks in round 22 .
I'd be happy with this season if we were only 1 game off the mark . As for the final 8 , you never know , stranger things happen and our boys are now playing with a lot more spirit . Would love to get the ball rolling by finally getting over the saints again after 10 on the trot going the wrong way !

back to the predictor

the only spot we can obtain now is 8th

our main rivals for this spot is pies and lions, they would be the only teams i could see getting this spot. Tigers and Dons would be the next 2 though highly unlikely.

before the loss to adelaide we could have probably fought for 6th-8th

now with the way the round has panned out 8th is our only hope

Our hope is that

Round 19
Hawks win against Lions
Saints win against Pies

and that the blues win, then we will be on equal points for 8th this week

with the North game to be crucial game.

as the weeks later

Round 20
Port plays Pies at AAMI
Lions play Dogs at Gabba

Round 21
Lions play Blues at gabba
Pies play Sydney at TD

Round 22
Swans play Lions at SCG
Fremantle play Pies at Subiaco

we need to win the next 2, to ensure we are still fighting

a loss in the next 2 and it would be time to concede that our finals hopes will have to wait another year
