Kudos how the f.... The cats let him go is beyond me, duigan amazing but I can't speak highly enough of this kid.

He is everything I wad hoping bower would be and hopefully will become.

Again kudos!

And all we had to give up was 5(?) spots in the draft and that pick still netted us Mitchell.

Some would say that we got him for nothing. ;)

While we're toasting.....Marcus Davies, unassuming, stepped up and played his role well....thought he shaded Edwards

Can't speak highly enough of Laids. Fast becoming one of my favourites.

Just so solid in almost every aspect of the game. Not a standout in any area but he has all the tools across the board. Skill, poise, decision making, pace, courage. Have to give him a tick for every aspect.

You can tell he's come through the Geelong system. At just 21 years old he's solid as a rock. You can also tell he's spent a fair bit of time with Milburn over the years. Obviously not as good a player but his style of play is very similar. Knows his strengths and limitations, and knows them well.

We have found a beauty here. :thumbsu:

Exactly. Reckon we've found ourselves in a 10 year player all for a packet of chips. :thumbsu:

Splendini - lets talk about this - who is this Davies - he was AWESOME - considerably more so than Brock might i add.

Yes, understated (has a bit of Gibbs about his gate and disposal - me like).

Thought he was great for his what - second or third game ??

Love his efforts and think he is a great pickup. Is great in a contest and really strong defensively. His flaw is that he really lacks speed.

if you could add the toughness of Laidler to Bower you'd have an excellent player. Is very smart and skilled and has a bit of controlled mongeral and courage.

His lack of pace cost us goals last night. Isn't in our best side in my view. I'd rather Bower. Pity we can't get him right.

Very impressed by Laidler's year to date. He and Duigan add a lot to our team and both are in our best 22 I think.

As for favourites, Duigs has already taken that place in terms of the newbies.:thumbsu:

Very happy with him, it did seem as though he was a bit slow on a few occasions last night. Actually the whole backline except for Henderson looked awfully slow.

As for Davies... Did a job and didn't seem to hurt us too much. He'll definitely step aside as soon as injuries permit.

Ummm Yarran?

Our backline needs another dose of speed, which it will get with Russell.

Everything will work much better with Jamison back. I'm looking forward to this line-up:

B: Yarran Jamison Laidler
HB: Russell Henderson Scotland

Really? Why because he is quicker & 2 inches taller? FFS Bower's lack of physical contest and aggression at the ball has also cost us plenty of goals over the years.
At one stage Bower had the potential to be a topline defender but 3 years of injuries have curtailed those ambitions. Laidler > Bower.

yay my red cards gone - how many can you get before being banned totally? curious because i really want to say hi to our melbourne friends
