Can't help but think there's going to be a suprise late change or two.

Elevating Spurr and putting him as an emergencey is way to fishy. I'm guessing Spurr will play, no idea who'd he'll replace though. Maybe Fyfe to be a late withdrawal again or even though he played ok last week, maybe JA to be dropped?

The other puzzle is Griffen. I'm not convinced on him playing either. He didnt finish his WAFL game last week due to tightness/minor injury..... You'd hope he's cherry ripe. Bit of a risk having him come in for his first game of the year, on the back of some minor niggles and against Kruezer who's in fine form.

Anyone else got any thoughts or inside goss?

Cant wait til the game!

Lyon doesn't strike me as the type that pulls surprise selections to bamboozle the opposition.

Do you mean unlike last week? I agree that there will be a late change or two.

Spurr for Fyfe and Bradley for Griffin.

I really do hope that I am wrong though!:(

I put this in the Spurr upgrade thread but my two cents is I can't see it simply being ducks and drakes, at this point Fyfe could be almost 2 weeks recovering from surgery. If they really arent doing surgery until the end of the year would three weeks off (add GC next week) make a lot more difference than one?

Would be happy to see Spurr come in tonight, would be a bit worried if Fyfe's a late withdrawal again. Suban's out and would like to see Neale keep his spot so no idea who else he'd come in for.

I won't feel safe till I see Fyfe run out (last through the gate as is is superstition) but I'm predicting team will go in as named.
Spurr upgraded to reward him for the work he's done and let him know he is close to selection.

Nah, I don't buy that Lyon intended for anything other than Fyfe to play last week. He strikes me as a meticulous planner that telegraphs to the opposition exactly which team he will put on the field.

Spurr was upgraded for insurance if Fyfe doesn't get up, but I believe he is intended to play.

h!:(

I'm praying you are. Kep can't ruck.

I could beat Bradley in the ruck . ; he's never won a ruck tap since juniors.

I do think Spurr is a contingency for Fyfe though. That would be the only reason for the upgrade. I doubt he and Fyfe will both play.

Fyfe trained well and was challenged through out the session, cant see any reason why he wouldnt line up
Spurr also trained yesterday with the WAFL boys and has been named for Peel
Would be against the selection policy so far for him to play

I think they will line up as selected. If there is any worry at all I think it would be that Barlow missing training earlier in the week, did he train well yesterday Salim?

Barlow missing training is not a worry, it's management. He may be susceptible to soft tissue niggles in the leg he broke not that long ago and will miss plenty of training sessions this year. He won't miss many games though.

He is, last year he pulled a player at the last minute and put someone not listed in the emergency list.

Copped the fine. Saints won the game so paid off.

Forgot which game though.

Wasnt that the Eagles and then Kanga's went to do it but decided they couldnt afford the fine.

Most likely late change :(
If they decide to leave Fyfe out, Spurr will play.

Small chance of Keps out, Griffin in if its true hes not 100%

Nah, Spurr won't play tonight.

My Opinion is that he's been given a sniff and that if he goes pack and kills it this weekend at Peel he'll crack a game. He's been rewarded for good form and is being let known.

That, and it sends a message to the other small/medium defenders to keep your form up, or in the case of Suban - improve it! There's extra competition for your spot now.
