Re: The media ... *Shakes head*

^ Reali!?
How many hertz is the LCD tho?
My 3d tv is 200htz and is amazing for footy or anything fast paced
wouldnt have a clue about his telly... its a couple of years old though
i cant understand how he even watches it

the football looks like a red square when in motion

im sure technology has got better though and the new 3D LED TVs do look awesome

Re: The media ... *Shakes head*

I've got a 50 inch Plasma in the lounge which is great for footy and because the room is reasonably dark it works really well. Also have a 42 inch LCD which ive mounted on the wall in our gym and as its a really bright room it works really well.

Only thing I dont like about Plasmas is if you are watching something like the football or anything which has an image constantly on the screen (time, scoreboard, watermark) then it can burn the image onto the screen which can take a while to remove.

Re: The media ... *Shakes head*

I reckon the approx. 34 inch CRT that I found on the side of the road that is in my bedroom beats all of youse.

I think we also have a 42 inch LCD in the lounge room which goes alright also :p

Re: The media ... *Shakes head*

Have worked in IT for 36 years now, and still hands on, even though in senior management. There is a reason that laptop/notebook manufacturers gave up on plasma screens in the late 90's and went to LCD. Enough said.

I have a Sony 200hz LCD TV and its brilliant for all ball sports.

Re: The media ... *Shakes head*

I have the Sony Bravia 200hz LCD TV and can't complain.

I did the comparisons between LCD and Plasma and went LCD.

They are better in varying light conditions and don't use as much power as plasmas. The main advantage of plasmas was the lower cost and the deeper colours (good for movies).

Definitely do not compromise on the Hertz if buying a TV for sport viewing.
