Leon Cameron - is he the man?

Is Leon willing to do the hard yards of a full 3 year rebuild? Will they go like Geelong who tried too hard to stay up where they've hit their ceiling that is just short of a premiership.

We saw with Hawthorn a refusal to properly rebuild at the end of the premiership years lead to a longer than needed hangover. Or will they go like the Dogs and Swans where going hard and early at the rebuild makes it be a shorter process.

The problem I think is that they have an emotional connection to the founding players and nobody wants to admit that generation needs to be moved on as it won't win a premiership.

They just need a more daring game plan
The coach is far too risk averse

Time to move him on. He won't coach this side to a flag. This side should be a serious contender
Clarkson would get a flag out of this mob. Time for them to throw the kitchen sink at him.

Davis is now done, he's pulling hammies chasing the youth, their forward line is new together but the mix seems all wrong (all of Himmelberg, Riccardi, Brander and Hogan but Green still needs to ruck?), Haynes is way off it - maybe a lack of fitness due to his stomach issues but he can't be played then.

And what to make of a list with guys the skill and speed of Whitfield, Kelly, Coniglio, Cumming, Perryman, Ash, Hill that doesn't bother to move the ball with any intent? Why play 4 marking options if you chip it around slowly? Kelly out of the center square made GWS look real dangerous, but during general play they were featherweight attacking.

List make up is all wrong for the game style. Not playing Preuss in hindsight was a bad call, really don't need all 4 of Himmelberg/Brander/Hogan/Riccardi

Leon has never got them playing a reliable system of football, when they’ve looked their best it was basically just individual brilliance over the ground and not some coaching genius.

Would love to see the potential of this team without having Leon Cameron as their coach.

He should have been gone 5 years ago. It was obvious he seems incapable of making GWS play like a team rather than a group of individuals who happen to be wearing the same colours. For all the amazing draft picks GWS have had they have never really looked like winning a premiership, or even looked that good most of the time.
