Lets try two more

My mate does stats for the tiser for North Adelaide. When I have spoken to him about Gill everything he said happened today as in he is a great mark, great workrate, great play reader, but shocking kick.

The extra work that he can get from specialist coaches at an AFL level can correct that issue. I think he was excellent today and was very strong in the clinches. From what I saw he definitely has a future.

I think his disposal, and the fact he put others under pressure was what gave me that impression. Your comment on his run is a fair assessment tho.

His kicking is sublime and up there with the best in the team. Just needs to work on the handball under pressure. That'll come with experience. Showed a fair whack of leadership today for someone of his age IMO.

Well that worked:rolleyes:

Gill has to be either Perrie or Burtons love child...fantastic mark out of position, puts on pretty good pressure when the ball comes to ground but his kicking for goal is as useful as an ashtray on a motor bike.

Campbell...not even worth tiring my fingers typing.

Who else can we play?

Yeah let's crucify them after one game. That's the spirit.:thumbsu: I thought they both showed glimpses.

Well I wonder why with personal language like that....I 'll accept your apology when you're ready.

When you start a thread with a ignorant, short-sighted comment like the one you made, generally it will bring out the worst in people. You can't really say you didn't expect someone to reply in the negative.

Gill was one of the few highlights of today. If only he could start kicking straight he could be the answer to our forward line problems.

I'm still not convinced about Campbell though, but at least he didn't start decking players like he tends to do in the SANFL.

When Gill has shots at goal it looks like he is about 100m out. He kicks it as hard as he can. Which I think is a bad thing. Unless he is 100m out

not worth typing a reply......

Sorry but I had Knights worse than Dogga today. He just couldn't get his hands on the ball and what about that disasterous series of passes backwards in the second quarter? We were very lucky to get out of it but overall Knights was the one putting his teammates under more pressure than Dogga was. Thompson also again had a case of the fumbles. :(

 Um what are you talking about, Bryce may have been reported once at SANFL level and that was very early on in his career.

Be interested to see Campbell's game time.

I was very pleased with Campbell's performance.

Yes he only had it 28 times - which game were you watching?

Today:

Michael Doughty Kicks 5 Handballs 10 Disposal Total 15
Chris Knights Kicks 16 Handballs 12 Disposal Total 28

There is something obvious here, can you guess it (besides the disposal count)?

Take that Banthers scarfe off and have another look !!

:D

Doughty was horrible today - at least Knights involved himself with the rebound plays and ran hard to create options.

Knights and Doughty are often confusable.

Who are the two more to come in?
Archard and Pfieffer?
McIntyre?
Douglas in for Doughty perhaps, though his hand passes would surely be missed
These guys don't get all that much game time anyway just over half the game.
Who to come out?
Porplyzia and Vince are available I think.

Not one of your finest posts TJ - you're usually much more rational than that. :)

These 2 boys definitely deserve another crack at it, particularly Gill.

I thought Gill had an excellent debut.Campbell showed better glimpses in the second half and may well prove himself an AFL footballer.
We relly missed a genuine crumber up forward for me Porplyzia is the man to come in at Doughty's expense and Bernie Vince is due for a recall and lets see what this lad can do.Out for him possibly , Mattner

I think next week Darren Pfieffer should be brought in for his first game and i think we should play John Meesen and find out whether he has a future at the Adelaide Football Club. If Meesen doesnt get a game before the end of the year he might as well head back to Victoria.

One of the talls will have to go next week IMO. Hard call. If one doesn't make way, we'll be run of our legs by Port. (Probably will be anyway)

Gill was great today, yes missed a few get-able goals but geez first game, took some good contested marks, and applied good pressure in our F50.

We have something to work with:thumbsu:

Campbell seen a little bit of him and thought he did okay.

Knights need to make sure he is not handballing/kicking and putting his team mate under the pump because he did that so many times today it wasnt funny, great you can have 28 possies but if you are putting your team mate under pressure with half of them whats the point:confused:

Perrie did a few good things around the middle and in D50, Welsh was terrible today, byt that I mean he didnt do the team things and after the game it was commented on quite bit on Triple M.

NC and his stubborn ways continued with not moving Stevens from Lloyd, I thought that was the difference today:mad:

Why, what did Lloyd do after quarter time?

Most of Lloyd's goals came in the 1st quarter when there was little pressure applied up field & he had plenty of space to move into. Wouldn't of mattered who was on him!

Lloyd didnt kick any goals after halftime, at 1/4 time the move should have been made, Lloyd kick five goals for the game.

Please post facts instead of rubbish next time:rolleyes:

Yes, Marty you are a legend of the facts... Why do you have to carry on like such a tosser, as there was nothing impolite about my reponse. :thumbsd:

The bottom line is IMO playing a different opponent on Lloyd would not have made any difference. Lloyd kicked most of his goals because of an awesome supply/too much space to move in, not a lack of pressure from Stevens.

What move would you have made? Kenny? He was invaluable to us in the 2nd half. Perrie? Not a natural backman. Bock? He was killing Lucas, who was the matchwinner in round 1. Gill? I don't think so.
