Started barracking for them at the start of 1996, I was 9 years old and just enjoyed watching the likes of Carey, Stevens and Archer as time went on. Now I enjoy watching the emerging youngsters in Harris, Petrie, Wells, Motlop and Brown,a long with many others.

16. West Coast
I am in Year 12 at a West Australian High School, and all I hear every single day of the year is how West Coast is this and that, and how **** everyone else is and majority of the supporters know absolutly nothiing about any other club, let alone there own, and talk ****. Pure bandwagon supporters 90%, coming from WA, I hope they don't win another game. So basically supporter's fault.

started going for them in 96', i'd call that hopping on the bandwagon u TOOL!!

Im coming to dunsbourah for leavers and im gonna *** it up!!

I hate people like you, bloody hipocrits!!!!!

Calm down lady. He was nine years old at the time and its now 8 years later and he's still supporting them. Back in your box she-man.

He came across as an arogant ****

He was nice to me, but i suppose its because i was his neighbour and i was only young. A few people on here have said they don't like him but i have never seen that side of him.

If I was an icon/celebrity or whatever, and kept getting asked for autographs I'd be ****ed off. However, Matera is a tool anyway, it runs in his family.

Surjan! he's only been playing in the forward line since he's been at port, but he's more of a midfielder. I heard a mark williams interview, and he was asked about his youngsters he said he would play them in midfield after a few games to get some experience then settle some of the youngsters into the midfield, which i think is good, so he may get a game in the midfield later in the yr.

support : swans, i grew up in nsw, live in sydney and introduced to them 6 years ago and have never looked back

like :
geelong - grandfather played for them. never met him though so not favourite. being worlds oldest football club is very cool.
brisbane - classy, top coach. see them as allies with sydney in many ways.
essendon - sheedy keeps me fascinated. always worth keeping an eye on.

are okay.
eagles : shame about the shallow list
carlton : their pain is only going to get worse as it's over the next five years their lost picks would have matured. hated them before though.
crows : just to watch mcleod's turn of pace.
doggies : honest strugglers.

indifferent
saints
melbourne
freo
roos
hawks

collingwood : see port
port : see collingwood
richmond : dinosaur with ears deaf to progress. can't stand "heart on the sleeve" coaches.

The E-girls, Wet Toast, The Chads, Baby Oil Inc. what ever you want to call them.

The rest I don't care about.

Symptomatic of many Fremantle supporters.

Typical chip on the shoulder, Kingswood driving, Emu Export Drinking, Flannelet wearing, ACDC listening, tight black jean wearing, jaden spa purchasing, blue collar working swine.

More interested in what is going on at the Eagles than their own club. Has a tiny bit of success (if you call bombing out in the first week of the finals success) and goes straight to their head. Where were all these Freo supporters a couple of years ago? Barely heard a whisper.

Please smash these toffee apple front runners at the Dome Friday night Bombers. Maybe the coach can come bleating to the media again how physically targetted they are  and how they need special attention.

As opposed to wine spitting, drug taking, mobster consorting, stuck up , oiled up , Range Rover Driving, Tony Barlow wearing Subiaco ****ters who are too busy booing opposition players to actually cheer on the rare occasion their team does anything remotely interesting.

Speaking of whinging, I think Mr Worsfold can take a bow after his pathetic efforts to get taggers more scrutinised after Judd got exposed by Carr and Walker in the last two Derbies, as well as many other times he was singled out for individual attention.

I'm speaking for myself here, but I've supported the dockers since 1995, when I switched because I was sick of the boring style of play that Malthouse promoted. I've stuck by them since then (I attended nearly every game in 2001 as well). I never thought I'd say this, but I hope the pies give you lot a good towelling next week, it's hilarious to see many of the eagles supporters I know refusing to attend because they don't want to see a loss.

Anyway, onto the topic.

My Team: Freo. I've already said what needs to be said, great team, great supporters, things looking up for the future:D. So many household names: Mann, O'Reilly, Michael, Chisholm, McManus, Parker, CLIVE, Modra(In a way:D), Bell, Pavlich, Hasleby:D:D:D.

Partial to:

The Saints: I've always been partial to the battlers, Reidwolts brilliant to watch. As well, Nicky Winmars extended family lives around my area (I went to school with his nephews), even met the great man himself once, great bloke. Good to see them experiencing success.

The Dogs: Same reason, always liked how they play with heart, especially in that last game in 1996 where the bombers just edged them out. Enjoyed watching Romero, Libber, Wallace play. Met Danny Southern once as well, he's a really nice bloke.

Melbourne: Mainly because of the former Wowoedin connection(he was an ex-student of Dads), but I also like watching Nietz, Davey and Yze.

Sydney: Only recently started watching them regularly (after the flogging they gave Port last year). Like watching Kirk, Hall and Goodes.

Indifferent:

Geelong
Crows
Port
Brisbane
Bombers
Pies (Would normally be a lot lower, due to the Eddie factor, but assistant coach Broadbridge is the brother of a mate so they make it to indifferent)
Roos
Blues
Tigers (Coughlan, Krakoeur and richo)
Hawks (Love to bring up my mates comments after the trading period a couple of years back "McPharlin is a disabled ****** who cant play footy for crap)
Anyone else I haven't mentioned except.....

Dislike

West Coast (Their supporters, wine spitting ****er-bandwagoners who think their team is the greatest thin ever to grace the footy field, just because they managed to scrape 2 premierships over 10 years ago. With the list they had they should've won four-five.)

So why is it ok for you to make ridiculous generalisations about Dockers supporters, but not vice-versa? and where do you get Eagle-obsessed from? I'm just sticking up for my club, or am I not allowed to do that? Funnily enough, I live in Doubleview, drive a camry, am single, frankly don't give a **** about the eagles (unless their supporters needlessly bag my club). I'll admit that ****ter was the wrong choice of words.....and I don't know where the hell you pulled communist from.

another Nedlands Wine-Spitter, looking down from his Ivory Tower:rolleyes: .

ROFL... the answer to this is pretty simple. Tell me what these 6 clubs have in common... and why they are so similar.

Group 1: Adelaide Crows, West Coast Eagles, Essendon.
Group 2: Fremantle Dockers, Port Adelaide, St Kilda.

Group 1 is the "corporate" clubs according to the supporters of Group 2 (Insert jealousy here). They get the most sponsorship... Their supporters are told they are less "passionate" by those in Group 2.

Group 1 are clubs which have won premierships and have success. Group 2 are clubs that have had no success. As a result supporters of Group 1 are more balanced people and lead more fulfilled lives... they have your businessmen and students and families on high incomes... which is why Dockers supports call us "Champagne swillers". Supporters of Group 2 are frustrated at being so crap for so long. They are mainly blue collar workers on low pay... they are abusive and arrogant and when they do win they let everyone within earshot know about it (See Forums for proof). You dare say anything negative about a club from Fremantle, Port or St Kilda and they jump down your throat. As a result most of us hate Group 2... and most are jealous of Group 1.

There is a generalisation for you.

I guess if finishing 4th and 5th in your premiership years with ordinary records and only getting to the grand final because the finals system was completely flawed and was actually acknowledged by the AFL the next season when they changed it so that it didnt give teams who finished 4 to 6 the same ride into the Grand Final as 1 to 3.

I remember they were asking different football personalities in 2000 about what they would remember about the last century and Leigh Matthews actually said "One of the great mysteries to me was how the Adelaide Crows could pinch 2 flags with the squads they had.... I still cant work it out" Nobody rated them then at all and fluking a few wins at the end of a year when normally you would be knocked out of the finals in the first or 2nd week doesn't mean you deserved the flag.

Isn't that why they have finals? How can you fluke winning 7 finals in 2 years?

After the first 4 rounds of each season the Crows were the best in each of those years and if the experts had've looked closely the signs were there, particularly in 97. Really, how important are the first four rounds anyway? The finals are what matters.

You're kidding yourself Viduka. No one else.

I like your generalisation, true to a fair extent!

As for me -

Support:
1. Essendon

Like: none

Indifferent:
2. all other clubs not mentioned
13. West Coast - Special mention, used to hate them during the height of the scarf waving wars, especially given I went across to Subi the year after sheedy first waved the jacket and we got towelled up (that day sucked!)...now I couldn't care less about them.

Hate with a passion:
14. Brisbane - After the grandfinal loss in 2001, hard not to hate em, although they have redeemed themselves in my eyes by flogging Collingwood in the last two Grannys!
15. Carlton
15. Collingwood
Hate these two probably equally, Carlton can stay at the bottom for the rest of eternity, and likewise collingwood. Too many reasons to write down!

The first 4 rounds of each season? Surely you jest....

In 1997 both St Kilda and Adelaide were at the bottom of the ladder after 6 rounds with a 2-4 record each. Hardly the "signs" you talk about.

Mate, calm down. Like one said I was nine years old and I began barracking for them Pre-Season 1996, my uncle is a mad Blues supporter and I watched the 1995 Grand Final with him, and at 8 years old then he asked me what team I barracked for, I believe the next game I watched was the first in 1996 with North Melbourne, don't remember the exact game nor outcome but as I said I enjoyed watching Carey and Co.

I'd hardly call it jumping on the bandwagon when I was 9 years old, it was the start of 1996 and at the exact stage North Melbourne hadn't won a premiership in 19 years, and I was figgen 9 and didn't know anything about football. 8 Years down the track I have become much more passionate and I constantly travel up to Perth (3 Hours) to watch the team when I can, and have been to Melbourne 3 times each ANZAC weekend to watch the team in Melbourne and enjoy the spirit Melbourne has to offer.

Now I'm sorry you need to get all upset at someone who was 9 and began barracking for a team that happened to enjoy much success including 2 premierships in my time of watching them, but i'm not sorry for barracking for the great club. Now sure I loved the success, but how about the hard times, Pagan leaving, Carye leaving, did my passion drop? No it got stronger and I began supporting the club more, with faith in Laidley, Stevens, Archer now Simpson in running the football club, and the reason I now love the club is because of the spirit and the desire to win. We may not be the most financially stable club, but Arden Street has great passion, and f*ck you if you want to come on here and abuse me because I've followed a club for 8 of my 17 years and wehave just happened to have success.

The reason I spoke of West Coast as I did because that's my context, I go to school with many supporters, and my experience is they discuss football when they are suceeding, but don't want to talk about it when they are down, and majority (no not all) but majority at the school I'm at have simply been the reason I don't like watching West Coast suceed. Now if you odn't want to understand that, or your just too much of a prick to even try...f*ck you.

Sorry to other posters in this thread, it's a great thread and I just had to let this 'western nugget' person know why, I began barracking for the great blue and white.
