I would have thought after a year in the SANFL Sumner would have to be drafted. That wording looks to apply to players still in the AFL system shifting from one club to another.

We should be all over that. Each year there are quite a few recycled players who have gone back to the local league and proven themselves and it could be a great opportunity to freshen up our list outside of the draft.

If we lose Pearce (and even if we don't) I think Sumner should be a definite target.

We'd be stupid not to be very seriously considering a rookie spot for Sumner. It didn't work out at Sydney, but much of that was to do with environment. Sumner is an AFL quality 80m outside player with a line-breaking kick we need.

I'm not sure if he's been mentioned much but what about Jared Polec?

Outside runner, young (20 next year), SA boy. I think he's out of contract. Also seems to be in and out of the Lions team lately.

Might be worth a try.

I really hope boys look at the situation this mess they ALL created I hope they all feel guilty ...they deserve all to feel buttered and I have no sympathy for any of our players bar a couple..they deserve this heat as much as Primus

Our skills are the worst in the AFL, Logan is one of the worst exponents on our list, that puts him near the bottom in the AFL, love his en devour, what he does for the team but so often one courageous act is un done by one spud kick

Who are these superstars of which you speak? Superstar = would be top 5 in any club they walk into. We don't have a single player who'd be top 5 at any club. Heck a majority of our best 22 wouldn't make a list at another club as depth players.

'His skills are shit but he's tough'. As long as players are kept on list who have substandard skills at their level of experience we'll go nowhere.

Keeping them around just because the rest of our players are gutless is the sort of idiotic reasoning that helped lead us to Shitsville. Some of us plan on leaving there behind forever. It's not too late to join us.

Yeah the Matty Thomas hate on this board is baffling, i hear the usual "he has no skills" but i'd prefer the ball in his hands than say a Logan, Cassisi, Trengrove, Chaplin, Jmac, Pfieffer or Carlile. At least with Thomas he has the build and strength 99% of our list lacks to get the ball out of a pack and get it moving forwards, something most of our team, particularly the captain "i'll look backwards and handball into packs everytime i get possession", cant seem to grasp the concept of.

The only player out there besides Hartlett who looked like they actually gave a **** about the game yesterday.

Out of all the blokes on the field yesterday, only Matty T, Kane, and maybe Jonas looked like they gave a crap. Sarge gets a pass for coming out with his injury, the rest just didnt care

I agree he was our second best yesterday but I am talking more over the last few years
