I don’t mind it if it means we manage him correctly and give him more regular breaks through the end of the year.

His best his still valuable, but his body needs to be rated regularly to keep him
performing.

Given that was what we were meant to do this year, I feel confident in suggesting there will be **** all chance of us doing it next year.

I don't think that leak comes from us

Pretty sure this is Tex and Crouch driven

Standard ploy to get a media head to drop a concern

The line where ' the club has said wait till end of season ' says to me it's player driven

Surely we aren't considering Tex for another year FFS

It is about this time every year that his management leaks a story. Usually it's about interest from other clubs in the hope the supporters put pressure on the club for an extension.

The smart decision would be to hold off any talks on Crouch and Tex until you see how they go in finals assuming we make it. Usually the step up in intensity shows where a player is really at.

I wonder if tex's management will still use the same trick in 10 years time and we will still fall for it😉

Nicks coming into his 16th year as a non finalist winning senior coach, continuing to extend the record to unbreakable levels!

'Tex coming up to game 550 has proven to be an invaluable sub for us for the past decade, his average of 2 possessions and a goal every 5 matches has been outstanding, he takes the 5th best defender every week and does a great job, this non statistical shape running role continues to free up Matt Crouch who has transitioned brilliantly to a permanent forward pocket.'

which is what we should have been doing this year as his last year, except they all have a hard on for crawling him to 300

thanks Neil Craig

It’ll be more direct as soon as Tex kicks 2 or 3 and has a better game. He’ll get a direct question about next year and he’ll say he wants to play on. That will kick off the media questioning the club and why Tex hasn’t been offered a contract.

lol

Why Thanks Neil Craig.

What because he made Tex play 2008 for Norwood and dropped him once in 2009 2010 and in 2011.

Nicks will not let any experience go. Output is irrelevant at this point, Nicks will pick you if you've got games played under your belt.

It's standard Tex tactic. He can't give it up, just like Sloane and the bye round is when he always ramps up the media pressure to get a new deal.

Is there anyone or Carlton's list worth having a crack at if they do go into full blown firesale mode. (TBH i kinda hope Port win tomorrow to really kick that into gear).

Not firesale but due diligence on Elijah Hollands and maybe pick up Ashton Moir if he gets delisted as a rookie pick, he's doing OK in the VFL (nothing outstanding) but I'd rather him in a Carlton side than Frankie Fucking Evans or Fucking Fantasia

If what my Blues mate told me is true then he's an absolute no-go. Hasn't changed his behaviour at all.

Yes a few more games early on and he wouldn’t be pushing for next year to get the 300

Yeah, that'd be my worry, which is sad given his talent. He probably needs to do one of those videos that shows him going for a run and then doing some boxing drills where the coach throws the pads at his gloves like JUH did.

That'll show everyone he's serious
