Seems like he has been a very consistent player, highly underrated I feel outside of WCE. He may wish to explore his options. Our midfield and scoring opportunities could allow him to demonstrate his true abilities. Im not against this idea.
Quality player. Only question is he a more marking forward than crumbing forward with elite defensive pressure.

As noted in the last page we could LTI Toby Murray

If we arent looking at the MSD we may as well pack up shop
No, we can't - unless his injury is deemed to be season ending, which is not currently the case.

If his diagnosis changes then we could put him on the Inactive List (the LTI list no longer exists), but if there's no change to his diagnosis then our hands are tied.

We can Strachan him

We can Strachan him
His current diagnosis is 3 months, which takes him very close to the finals anyway. It's not outside the realms of possibility that they deem it to be season ending anyway.

They're unlikely to be able to convince him to stand down though, if his diagnosis doesn't change. Murray is still at the start of his career, unlike Strachan who is at the opposite end (and thus had nothing to lose).

You like Penry in his draft year from memory..IF we had had an open list spot, would he be on your radar as a ruck to develop?

Absobloodylutely
19 disposals, 31`hit outs and 10 clearances again on the weekend against the Bendigo Pioneers.

He is being noticed, did a full pre-season with standalone VFL team Port Melbourne and is on their 2025 roster when not required by the GWV Rebels.

Btw still in up to our eyeballs for Draper, according to Gettable. Apparently us or Essendon, no-one else
Well they had better make it their 1st priority to get Lachlan McAndrew locked away pronto because he is an unrestricted free agent at season's end and Draper will play no significant AFL football next year if he comes over......and if ROB walks we'll be stuffed.

Read somewhere that the aim for Draper is to be back in full AFL training by December? Still, achilles injuries scare me, a lot. Really hope it isn't a bidding war, even if Draper's form was good to start the year

I doubt clubs will be going out of their way to lure McAndrew, either way

He's been as dominant as Harry Boyd in the SANFL and is 3 years younger, wouldn't be too sure about that.

That's exciting to hear and thankfully different to what I heard. I was told even at SANFL level he was getting pushed out of the contest.

When healthy, is Draper rated in the top 10 ruckman?

Edit: Looking at the stats from 23/24 if you had a choice between Draper and O'Brien we are probably better off keeping the later.

Well Wheelo ratings have him 7th best ruck from his games this year. Don’t trust the sample size though, and a few of those games he played fwd/2nd ruck

And like I said, Achilles injuries are killers

O'Brien is in the top 5 for hitouts in 23/24 whereas Draper didn't make the top 20 in both years. I hope we pass on Draper.

Remember when we had concerns over Thilthorpe rucking on a knee - I still have concerns

Imagine having a ruckman with a knee concern and add in one with an achilles

Eek

I'd be interested to know how many repeat Achilles injuries there have been in recent AFL history

I'd be more interested in players form returning from achilles injuries?....
