I understand the pull and need of getting contracts out to the public in a drip feed system ie news cycles but I am someone who would hope clubs hold off until at least August before committing to anyone over 28

Just a small thing but I think buyers remorse kicks in more than buyers happiness

I get the angle of ‘Geelong is an attractive recruiting destination’. If it’s a choice between us and the Cats (even money), Marshall definitely chooses them

But if we make it impossible to decide against us…

I'm very wary of spending a lot of a ruck, particularly one with a bit of an injury history.

Marshall has way higher profile than Peatling, he's a highly proven commodity. He's been in the top echelon of rucks for an extended period. Peatling was a virtual unknown until the latter part of last year.

And if Marshall is on the market he will have way higher demand, we're talking one of the AFL's premier rucks not a 24 year old midfielder/forward with a career of 40 or so AFL games with quite a few of those as sub. That's not negative that's the reality.

Yeah, and while Curtin is the next big challenge here but we've retained/locked down our talented players in recent years, as well as successfully bringing in a range of good players.
