ROB won’t get much in the open market. He’s cruised for 3 years, surely putting in for a few weeks when you’re arguing over size and length won’t fool decent list management groups.

Well, lets sign him up to a purely performance based contract. Make it a week to week proposition.

That will give him the appropriate psychological boost, I reckon. AA ruck year.

Do we need a midseason draftee? We have plenty of young talent in the Magoo's not getting a game as it stands.

Maybe to have a look at a young ruck - but whether that's worthwhile for six months I'm not sure.

Understand the point on the young talent not getting a go but thats philosophical - which seems to be the reason we are not participating

But I would have thought another free hit at a ruck/forward would be ideal

I'm not going to pretend i'm a MSD talent eagle eye or anything. But looking at the names, i'm not all that inspired on who's out there in those spaces. Not sure anyone would warrant the list spot as it stands.

For what its worth though, I'd be down if there was a good ruck/KPF available. And also very keen to tackle those positions soon in the national draft/trade week. Even if they are depth for 1-2 years.

I was in that boat, but I'm very impressed with McAndrew thus far. Really want to see him get a block of games at the level as well. Feel like he's got something

I think we keep McAndrew, add a replacement for ROB and a young developing ruck. Is the MSD where we get that developing young ruck? Not sure.

With McAndrew the bigger question is why haven't we already extended him beyond this season?

How much more evidence do we need that he's an upgrade on Strachan as back up given his age and Strachan's contract status, who knows he may even be our next AFL ruck if ROB flies the coop.

Any word on the progress of Taylor Goad and Will Verrall? Liked them both in their draft year. VFL stats are often tough to draw anything from, but both look a bit more consistent in 2025 then 2024.

Also, Alex Dodson from last years draft should be a player I'd hope we keep an eye on. He went to a team that has Rowan Marshall, and put a $1.7M/year contract out to TDK. So I don't anticipate a debut for the Saints anytime soon.

I've been sold on McAndrew for a long time. I thought his preseason was enough to know he was an upgrade on Strachan. And clearly, was the type of long bodied and armed ruck that bothers ROB.

I'd be putting pen to paper on him as a priority

Ryan showed potential last year developing in the SANFL and Edwards this year so how is that stuffed drafting them??? Had they shown no AFL potential in the 2 years then it will be starting to be "stuffed" territory.

I think we want to keep ROB for 2 more years and trade in his near ready to go replacement. Both Strachan and McAndrew will both be delisted.
