I feel like because ROB is shit, people think we're moving on someone on peanuts for someone on an overinflated contract.

ROB is a club champion, a leader, has a huge workload as first ruck that would be considered when they drew up his contract. ROB would not be on small money.

There might not be a huge difference in these two contracts.

Draper as a player does not excite me though.

IMHO, I prefer ROB to Draper. As long as his deal is fair. Draper is coming off Achilles is a doubtful prospect. If it's a ruckman we want, we should look elsewhere.

Aren't Carlton sniffing around ROB? We know to win someone over you gotta pay, means we'll have to match or get close to a Carlton offer just to keep ROB. Is the option of keeping ROB on a reduced contract there?

I would not like him as first ruck at all

I can kinda see the vision of him as a 3rd tall forward/2nd ruck that allows RT to spend more time as the KPF figurehead, but even then the contract + injury concern wouldn’t make it worth it

Personally I’m not against Draper

Not many rucks look great in a genuine 2 ruck set up which he’s always been a part of

Plenty who look average either in that, as a 2nd ruck or stuck as a backup move and end up surprising people (eg an Ivan maric who went on to be an AA)

Always comes down to cost but I would not be surprised if he thrived as a 1st ruck

Í disagree and don't kid yourself there won't be other clubs with interest given he's a free hit as a free agent re draft capital etc.

Interesting times for Justin Reid if he sticks around. Building a list has its challenges but staying competitive and still bringing in talent is difficult. We don't appear to have academy or top father son prospect's like some clubs do.

The cap gets tighter and you can't keep everyone.

The move ons are as important as the keeps

Eg Doedee out with Worrell up the sleeve was perfect.

Will need to discard some other decent players to keep all the ones we really want + target recruits at various stages
