Closer than we've been for a whileWe aren't that close though.
That is interesting ... got a link, please?Interesting that Justin Reid said we took the call on Petracca. Definitely sounded like we weren't interested in taking in his contract or the trade.

In any thoughts over list management just be aware it is likely Tex pulls the pin early
'' oh but GC dont be so negative its a shit draft anyway so it wont matter ''
Of course it matters. Its a mindset our club just cant let go
Definitely been reported, he wanted an extra year and extra salary on top of his current deal - he came to crows and put his offer out on the tableThat is interesting ... got a link, please?
Realistically look at Steele last year vs Dunkley. Same size, similar stats. Yes Steele is 30 but I think he could be a really solid defensive minded mid for us, especially with Rankine in there who isn’t very defensive focused. He would cost us nothing, plus omfg finally an experienced pure mid to help the kids like Curtin, Edward’s, whoever we draft (hopefully greaves) develop !!!! I’m all in for the right price, he won’t cost much!
The problem is we’ll always be heading into September carrying injured players and with a shallow squad. We’re miles off being September performers.Yes we are.
Put a fit Dawson (foot), Soligo (OP), Rachele (knee) and Rankine and we perform significantly better against Collingwood and Hawthorn. Give Curtain another season and the midfield is nothing like it was in the 2 finals we played.
We are much closer than those 2 finals made the crows out to be.
Thats an answer from a glass half empty supporter. The problem is we’ll always be heading into September carrying injured players and with a shallow squad. We’re miles off being September performers.

we didn’t use any more or any less player compared to any other club. Injuries are just unlucky at the wrong time. Soft tissue injuries are controllable, but compact injuries are not. We had compact injuries.
Soligo was OP. Happy to concede that wasn’t a compound injury, but with time and another pre season his body will adjust and get stronger to play longer.Soligo wasn’t a contact injury and he’d been carrying it for months. Balme said the squad was gassed, it’s always going to be that way.
Anything more on what Balme has said? Link if possible? I haven’t seen anythingSoligo wasn’t a contact injury and he’d been carrying it for months. Balme said the squad was gassed, it’s always going to be that way.

80% of the side is under 23, with more pre season they will get fitter, stronger and last longer with the rigours of a long season.
I’m firmly in the camp we don’t need a Petracca or Oliver to be a contender.
We mismanaged both Crouch’s groins, hopefully we don’t do the same with Sog. Our best 23 is mostly over 23 and it won’t be changing in the next couple of years. Tex, Hinge, Murray, Laird, Milera, Cumming, Peatling, ROB, Rankine, Keays, Fog, Dawson, ANB, Keane, Worrell. Only Tex will drop out of that group by end of 2027. Outside of Curtin and Draper there’s just not much improvement opportunity in our list.
More than anything the Suns want a Flag, one will do, in the next 2-3 years. Two in 3-4 years would be a bonus (and remember, Hardwick got 3 Flags in 4 years with Richmond). We weren't keen on that and rightly so - surprised GC are to be honest
35 is beyond his 5-year contract.1.3-1.4mil+ for 5 years is asking for trouble, would've been a real handy get for the first few years but the output would decline fast at 33, 34, 35 years of age
There’s no reason you can have that confidence, you need to replace that with hopeful. That’s ok. I’m a glass half full type of supporter. I’m confident we will overcome those deficiencies and prosper in September next year.
IMO TT, Rachele, Pedlar, Edwards, Taylor, Ryan, Dowling, Bond, Nank and T Murray all have improvement in them. Haven’t put a line through Welsh either. We have plenty of scope to improve as a team. I’m more concerned with the coaching than the list.We mismanaged both Crouch’s groins, hopefully we don’t do the same with Sog. Very unlikely we get ourselves in a position to have 2 home finals next year.

Which game plan? The attacking, high-scoring one? The slow, methodical, safe and wide plan? The straight-line territory grab of an U14's team like we played in the QF?I dont know. never under estimate organic growth. unfortunately Nicks game plan is like asking it to grow through a slab of cement.
No I Can’t Koachfa ShitWhich game plan? The attacking, high-scoring one? The slow, methodical, safe and wide plan? The straight-line territory grab of an U14's team like we played in the QF?
I honestly don't know what Nicks stands for.

Dont you understand that he couldn’t play his preferred style with rankine and rachele out and dawsons foot ****ed? go back and watch the sydney game from this year or the dogs game which was a much bigger win than the scores suggested. he tried to play lockdown and get through on our defence bereft of options. need more dynamic mids to cover these setbacksWhich game plan? Definitely all absolutely critical players. Our best 3 mids out or injured (apparently). A half fit Rash only. And then the illness that swept the team that was definitely a real thing and I expect the biggest impact on us being so flat.Yes we are.

they weren't up to it...Or...hear me out
He plays the attacking style with younger players so they get used to it. I mean, its been done before. Like by every successful coach. Changing the game plan because you are afraid of losing is not only telling your team you have no trust in them but you dont believe they are good enough to win in the first place so they have to perform perfect football.
Nicks lost both those finals before we even set foot on the ground.
