Exactly the same as brisbane did with Daniher from memoryAre we going to be investigated for this?
Price him out of everyone's reach, only to reveal the real contract later
I think the penalty for this is we get pick 7 for freeAre we going to be investigated for this?

Did the rules get changed to clamp down on it after that?Exactly the same as brisbane did with Daniher from memory
similar but from memory there was a key difference with daniher being a rfa. lions paid a massive salary in a short term deal to trigger tier 1 compensation for dons as daniher left as a restricted free agent. so effectively they got their man and also looked after essendon with the compensation pick. then smoothed out salary on a longer team deal. i believe the afl then made this sort of arrangement not permissable going forward - seemingly just for free agents thoughExactly the same as brisbane did with Daniher from memory
You are right and it was actually worse due to it compromising the draft via an inflated compo pick. Our deal to land AhChee ONLY impacts us with no draft tampering like Brisbane and Essendon cooked upsimilar but from memory there was a key difference with daniher being a rfa. lions paid a massive salary in a short term deal to trigger tier 1 compensation for dons as daniher left as a restricted free agent. so effectively they got their man and also looked after essendon with the compensation pick. then smoothed out salary on a longer team deal. i believe the afl then made this sort of arrangement not permissable going forward - seemingly just for free agents though
Once they've signed you can do what you want with their contractDid the rules get changed to clamp down on it after that?
I'm vaguely remembering some contract changing-loophole that got closed but can't recall the details (or even if it was about Daniher)

It doesn't really matter how it's adjusted after the contract is signed - what matters is how the player's salary is counted against the salary cap.I think they changed the rules so you can't adjust the salary in the portion of the contract that was already signed. So you couldn't turn a massive 2 year deal into a back ended 5 year deal

Of course you might well say that. We couldn’t possibly comment though.Isn't this simply an expected readjustment of the initial 2-year contract to 5 years, like everyone else does?

Nothing has changed for the last two years.
A good young ruck, and some line breaking midfielders.
If Port couldnt find a place for him im not sure hes the right answer.Scully from West Adelaide is appealing. Looked good in the state game.
Makes sense, but he looks to have taken a big step.If Port couldnt find a place for him im not sure hes the right answer.
Feels very ‘agent creating fake competition to drive up salary’.Apparently Tom Morris is now going with the Neale to SA rumours too
I dont think Neale would move due to salaryFeels very ‘agent creating fake competition to drive up salary’.

Yep 100%Article says he’s flying back and forth to see the kids. Surely the only reason he’d leave Brisbane would be to be closer to his kids.
Yep 100%
Yes he has family in SA, and the flight is closer but it really wouldnt matter.
If we have asked the question then good on us I suppose.
