Re: Matthew Loyd Gone

Carey was 10 times the footballer. You really want to compare the 2 players? Actually there has never been a player to wear the Essendon jumper that was as good as Carey. Nice try though!

Yeah, quality bloke.

I'll take Hird over Carey any time.

And the Carey slurs are talking about off-field incidents too. Sure, Carey seems like a bit of a twit off the ground but he was one of the best players of all time on the ground. You say he was 10 times the footballer? I'd say it was closer to 12 :p

Bollocks. Hope he gets life.
You could argue he was trying to lower himself to tackle Sewell, and that because he was moving forward so fast, countered with Sewell rising more than he thought, that the hit wasn't that bad at all.

Re: Why are people even comparing lloyd's bump with buddy's bump

Lloyd's bump? There was no bump. It was a collision between two players going in hard that resulted in accidental head high contact. Lloyd never took his eyes off the ball.

Hard to take your eyes off something when they were never on it to begin with.

It was clear sniping. Don't be daft.

Re: Why are people even comparing lloyd's bump with buddy's bump

You blokes are kidding yourselves. Lloyd was front on and crouched down at moment of impact. If he had of been side on at full pace i'd agree....but your looking through rose coloured glasses. I can't stand Lloyd... but that was not intentional.

thank god someone with some ******* sense.
lloyd actually had his arms out to get the ball initially, he slightly braced himself for impact but did not turn his body and did not intentionally go for the head, odds are he will get a week or two because of the new rule but i mean FFS lloyd could have just as easily been knocked out in that situation. lloyd wasnt even looking at sewell and you say he was going for the man? if someone was deliberately going for the man i imagine he would have his eyes on that man

get off your high horse hawthorn your all a bunch of hypocrits. grow a pair

Re: Why are people even comparing lloyd's bump with buddy's bump

lloyd made direct first contact with the head

buddy didnt

LOL at Hawthorn supporters!

If you watch the two incidents without brown and yellow glasses on, Franklins shoulder hits Cousins head and knocks him out, Lloyd's shoulder hit Sewells head and knocks him out. Same same.

What was most priceless though was Hawthorns reaction to the hit. After spending all week telling everyone they were holding up the code, they go beserk and start an all in! Then Brown makes threats all game, whilst not actually doing anything and then continues to make threats on radio after the game!:o They can dish it out, but not take it, that is the story here.

Footy karma, dont you just love it?:D

Re: Matthew Loyd Gone

Yeah and your happy to have a better bloke but a lesser player playing for you. Good

lesser player huh? Opinion.

Better bloke? Infinitely

What else would they do? Do a West Coast and try and push him over and get knocked flying?

Re: Matthew Loyd Gone

Tough guy Campbell Brown mouthing off about 'getting LLoyd back' next year. Honestly , you tool, how many touches did you have today with your team's season on the line. Oh, and you had the best part of half a game to 'get him back'. If he retires I guess you missed your chance you flog. Did I see a line in the sand today?... see ya next year whingey hawks.

What did Lloyd do today darling? I think nothing pretty much sums it up. Actually embarrassing himself might count. Shameful hit and worse captain, your club should have given it to someone far more deserving.

Should get 4 weeks and will forever be known as a dirty player rather then the goal kicking champion he should be.

What did Lloyd do? Most influential player on the ground was young Matthew.

Re: Why are people even comparing lloyd's bump with buddy's bump

There is a difference, and this coming from a neutral supporter.

Lloyd's was clear striking off the edge of the box. He had the intent to take out Sewell and that was it.

Franklin was just trying to disposses Cousins. He should have tackled though.

The contact force was about the same so Lloyd will probably get 1-2 weeks because the tribunal isn't intelligent enough to judge cases on their merit. If looked at intelligently, the Lloyd incident was much worse. Even without the new rule, it was still worth a week or two. Bye bye Matthew Lloyd for season 2009 and possibly forever.

You are ab****ely %^$*ing kidding yourself. I challenge you to show me one still shot where Lloyd's hands are actually at or below the level of the ball. 1 image. Bit hard to pick the footy up if you dont even get down to it.

Not like he doesn't have a history for this or anything - weak sniper.

Re: Matthew Loyd Gone

Clear case of charging - Lloyd came streaming into the square at full tilt at the bounce. He was always going to make contact with someone. For mine it was intentional - and he would be very lucky to get just 4...

What the f*** are you smoking? You are deliousinal!
