Losing to the second bottom team and beating every one of the top 4 must be close to some kind of record. Although Hawthorn did bring this up on their website. The fact that this was a danger game and that North had already beaten 3 top teams.

It has to come down to what is going on above the shoulders. Not a great result the last 2 matches for the people responsible for preparing the players week in, week out.

Fitzroy in the 1960s who were permanently The Bottom(and by a long way - 1964 - didnt win a single game) Team - had a great record of beating Premiership teams

1963 - Geelong premiers - Fitzroy won one game for the year - beating Geelong at Brunswick St

Same era - Fitzroy last - played Richmond - reigning premiers- 1st - and a powerhouse at the MCG - in front of the Queen- Richmond started at Phar Lap like odds to win the game - and Fitzroy were a million to one - The Roys never looked like losing - led all the way - and cantered in by about 4 goals

It's not about june, july or august. it's all about september.

the roos have 8 weeks to find their best, which is good enough, consistently.

I think they will find it.

Losing Sewell early didnt help. Missed his grunt inside which meant Hawthorn's spread was compromised. North's pressure was great and had Hawks hesitating. Brisbane are bloody quick in open spaces and I think that's why North had problems with them last week. As with Port and Adelaide last week, the top sides are vulnerable every now and then (no shit) but not as much as others and that's the difference.
As for North, they'll have to learn to stop playing with the switch and leave the bloody thing on.
