Lucas Or Morabito

It looks as though this may be the choice come draft day. I think that West Coast will take one of these guys with the first round pick, but at the moment it looks like Fremantle will dictate which one is left

So come draft day (which bare in mind isn't till November) which one of these two would you prefer at your football club, providing you get the pick before us

I've seen a little of Morabito and Lucas this year and I've felt a bit underwhelmed. They both look AFL quality to me but they don't look to have the elite potential of Hill or Rich (EDIT having siad that, Rich looked ordinary at times at WAFL level but he's stepped up big time this year so it's hard to judge)

Trengove seems to be the consesus number 2 pick so I think we might go for him

If we do finish last and this is the order I think Melbourne will take Scully then we will take Butcher. Then with pick 17,18 take two good midfielders.

From what I've heard there are only a few good talls in this draft and you won't get another chance to draft one for 5 years once GC & West Syd take there picks. Appart from Pav who is currently playing midfield we haven't got any good Tall forwards so this is a must for us for the first pick.

They say there is alot of good mids so there will still be some quality at pick 17 & 18.

Personally i'd prefer Morabito as he'll start as a midfielder but when he develops into his frame he'll have the capabilities of becoming a forward.

Or conversely, unless the KPP is guaranteed Pavlich/Buddy class, we should go midfielder.

I understand the need for KPP, but people seem to be underestimating how sh&^ our midfield still is, and how boosting it will send the best forward we have into the forward line (albeit maybe for not that many years).

Pav-Mayne-Ballantyne-Johnson-Sandi/Clarke-Walters-Ruffles is a forward line that would suffice IF the midfield dominates. Maybe Sibo/Shepheard will come good. Down back, well that's another story, but it seems the KPP at the top end (Butcher, Panos) are forwards.

No point picking a tall for the sake of it if the midfielders available are more likely to be relatively better at their position. A superstar midfielder is better than a good-but-not-superstar KPP.

What I meant by the reference was that Morabito would have an influence from day one, a little less polished but still an influence and will be an very good player.

On the other hand, Lucas will take time to develop but will also be a very good player. Bordering top flight in years to come.

This may be the unpopular choice but I would prefer Lucas. He just seems to be more impressive imo and will be a star after a few years in the league. I would take Scully/Trengrove first though if they were available.

This will be one of the most important dates for our club for the next 5 years along with last years draft which was quite impressive from what weve seen so far. We really need to cash in and I think all of these guys would help so the most important picks will come in the next few rounds.

if we finish last with 4 wins we get picks 1 and 2 and if we finish 15th with for wins 2+4 which means u dont pick untill 5

which means Scully, Lucus, Butcher, Moribito could all be gone u could end up with trengove tho unless he goes top 4 n butcher slides
