They had 14 players miss one game or less for the year and we had 5.

You also had a whole bunch of players miss 2 or 3 games for the year. So don't make out you had a horror run either.

Christ you are insufferable. Stick to berating anyone you disagree with on the north board

Oh bugger off. You are the one that has to have a dick measuring contest with anything North Melbourne.

10 years on.

The 10th anniversary of St. Bedes Mentone's VAFA C Grade Premiership win over AJAX at Trevor Barker Oval. Playing Coach that day was Luke Beveridge. The genesis of AFL premiership coaching success?
St Bedes.
Brother Andrew and his alsations guarding the perimeter in the evenings.
Memories of salivating sharp teeth. Im guilty. The strap, or the cane.
And then, British India, emerging as a rose from the mentone wasteland.
Glory be.
And Bevo.
Glory be again.

Wow, what an absolutely brilliant appointment by the Doggies, instilled a toughness and pressure into a (previously) talented, but somewhat timid playing group ..

I know the Dogs copped some heat for sacking McCartney and their off-field turmoil last season, but they look like such a rejuvenated footy club.

Congrats Dogs fans, you're on a winner with 'The Drink' as your new coach:)
Hah the DRINK , of course, Beveridge, ha ha ha !! I like it, but none til Saturday night.

You mean the club stocked with cooked players well past their prime? What did North expect in terms of injuries with such an old side?

Except Wright, Anderson, MacDonald, Jacobs, Garner, Turner, Higgins and Wood aren't old.

Our over 30 players besides Waite were pretty durable this year.

If you are going to use age as a factor for our injuries then you are way off the mark.

Flop that penis out.

Surprise surprise anchor Higgins got hurt

To play devils advocate, none of those players are A Graders, and although you can say North had a higher quantity of injuries, the Doggies quality of games missed by quality players is considerably higher.

Dogs have one of the best/deepest lists in the league, hence another VFL Premiership for Footscray.

He's right Darwin. You are a blight on the board.

You shouldn't be posting in a Beveridge thread.

You aren't worthy of getting near his shoelaces.

I heard an interview with one of his ex Ammo players who played in the 3 flags (8 players played in all 3 consecutive flags). This bloke was talking about how Beveridge:

- encouraged back line players all those years ago to play attacking footy, take marks in the backline and not just punch and to not be afraid of turning the ball over by playing all out attack from the backline.
- had the midfield hunt in packs.

Sound familiar in 2016?

Players like Wood set up a lot of play from the backline with his ability to take a grab, their running players from half back are killing it at the moment and sure enough, their midfield is winning the contest and the run and carry players are playing their part.

And because he was the playing coach in at least the first one, he followed through with his actions and others bought in to that.

Ehh we kinda did have a horror run over the entire season. We had to use 39 players for the year with changes from injury most weeks. This finals series we've had our most settled line up and it shows.

I'm not sure what's so hard to grasp about this. They are the facts.

:drunk:

The only clubs to have used more are Brisbane, Gold Coast and Richmond. And often those only because their players lack form, not because they were injured.

It's played up a little bit, but to say the Dogs haven't been significantly affected by injuries is laughable. Having most of their guns at full fitness at the right time of the year, they are now proving just how good they are when close to full strength.

Beveridge is brilliant and I can see him having a long, successful AFL coaching career.

Back to Bevo. Been coaching for 2 seasons and has won the Coaches Association Coach of the Year twice.

He has turned a club from a basket case to one who not only is in the GF but also convincingly won the VFL grand final.

I think he has done OK!
Coaches award means little given Clarkson hasn't won one, despite 4 premierships
