Nathan Buckley is the Arsene Wenger of the AFL! :p

So let me get this right.

A coach who won the premiership 18 months ago is under more pressure than the bloke who has regressed his team over the last 6 years?

And if Collingwood play poorly against GWS, watch the pressure mount even further.

The coach under the most pressure for mine.

A loss this week and I think you’d be able to put a line through their season

Gordon seems like the type of President that have no hesitation in ‘pulling a Norm Smith’ and giving him the boot.

What are the implications on another poor season?

On a scale of 0/10

Where 0 means absolutely no pressure at all
And 10 means exactly as much pressure as bevo ....

How much out of 10 would you rate these coaches (listed in alphabetical order)

Buckley, Nathan.

I'm not sure people or not all realised how much Adams, Picken, Morris, Boyd and Murphy meant to the side. Paticularly to our backline. The first three are injured, but are close to the end anyway. With JJ and trengrove and even Wood (why) are being played forward that back has no leadership for new players like Naughton.

he has gone wenger-esque , his decisions have been puzzling of late.
i think he has become really arrogant.

he has abandoned the premiership game style.

but we are a very young team , with injuries

Might be an element of out-thinking himself, trying to stay ahead of the curve.

Arsene was a very successful and quite brilliant manager once. He we successful and won trophies. He also was brilliant at identifying and developing legendary talents that were not living up to their early hype (Henry, Bergkamp, Vieira, Pires, etc). He also oversaw an invincible season which has been done only one other time in the entire league's history. He did all that whilst having his team play some of the most breathtaking football that's ever been played.

Unfortunately the game has changed completely since Wenger's golden years, and he's trapped in his ways. You'll never find talents like TH14, PV4, DB10, RP7 going for minumum dollars. His tactics are outdated too. It's stale.

Regardless of the Manager Wenger has become he will always be considered a legend for what he has achieved. Meaning no disrespect to Buckley but he has achieved absolutely nothing as a coach.

are you wenger in or out?

I'm out, it hurts to say it but change is needed. The only positive with him hanging about is that players seem(ed?) to respect him and want to play under him.

Ideally he moves upstairs and oversees development of the youth which has always been his forte. We need to bring someone else in with a new voice and ideas.

thats good, im wenger out also. and believe bucks should have got the sack last year

as claude says "its time to go"

i really wanted to see him win a title, 2015 was the best opportunity and he screwed it up with lack of transfers.

How embarrassing, you have the weakest coach in the comp!
Bet your other 10,000 posts must be cracker's as well!

Bev was a major X factor in the flag. His role can't be exagerated. He is still genius, hasnt lost it but his team is coming off injuries and troubles and Bev is employing creative solutions that havent yet worked. I'd be backing him in 100% the guy is a rare one.

Things aren't great at the moment, but the side has changed quite a bit over the last year and our backline is decimated. The Dogs also had the youngest and least experienced side in the league in round 1. However, I think we definitely need to get back to basics starting with Wood and JJ both going back to the backline.

Still think all 4 emergencies are in the best 22 and should be playing this week. Struggling to understand how Bont and JJ are playing forward while Dickson and Boyd are playing reserves.

Based on what we’ve seen they are easily spoon favourites and if that’s the case I can’t see him lasting til round 23.

He was a good experiment / motivator but he’s not a coach for week to week stuff.

Clubs could bring him in for the finals as s guest speaker.

You could be the fluffer and “warm up” the crowd for him.
