Dahl looked like he was playing injured this year, I really think he could go back to being an excellent pressure forward at AFL level but I'm sure Geelong have offered him the role at AFL he wants which would be part of his decision to leave.

Has he? Or are you just exaggerating that now he is leaving? I understand kicking is not his strong suit, but there is no way he plays 154-games of AFL and kicks 110 goals over 8-years if his kicking is atrocious. He simply would not have survived if that were the case.

He used to be a very good snap for goal, the one area of kicking he could do. Seems to have lost that now too. Otherwise just bangs it on the boot. We've always spoken about his kicking as a major flaw, even in his draft year.

Years only used as a deal breaker if two players are on exact the same amount of yearly salary. Considering it's 6 figures I'd be surprised if it's ever used.

Chris Mayne netted us a start of 2nd round pick for his 400k a year deal from Collingwood so might end up being a similar compensation.
