Why is he being shielded? Everyone knows I don’t rate him but let’s be painfully honest, he put in one of the most insipid performances I have ever seen from anyone at AFL level. And this was from a guy who was playing for his AFL career.

How soft was he? There were a few times where had he just gone in hard he would have at the very least locked the ball in and forced a stoppage. That’s the thing, he makes it far too easy for his opponent not only to bring the ball to ground but to then win possession and stream away. He is a forward and yet he never, ever blocks his man or shields the ball from his opponent, something Walker does regularly.

So we know Walker won't play next week, but does that mean Jericho survives? He was our worst player today and on that effort he doesn’t deserve another chance. That was your chance Luke and you absolutely blew it.

Luke. Gone. Now. No debate, just get rid of this soft uncommitted shocker. He has talent but he doesn't use it, puts in no effort, never gets into a contest let alone put his head over the ball. Bye Luke.

It will surely be Gill for Jericho (going on the fact Craig wont pick Walker).

I have supported Jericho based on overall performance this year (positives outweighing negatives in most games) but today was, as Drummond said, insipid.

Couple of good tackles but seriously it wasn't enough.

I am not joking with this...has he ever spent time with a Sports Psych? If ever a player needed it he does. It's all upstairs with Luke. Has the skills. Has the body.

If they cannot get into his head and instill work ethic and aggression in the next few weeks...goodbye

If this bloke is on our list next season then I won't be renewing my membership.

How many ****ing chances can one man have. Golden tickets being handed out apparently.

4 disposals says it all. His SANFL form was average but Craig must have liked the way he got his 2 goals in the last 2 games. Jericho should mentor Walker the right way to kick goals because obviously Luke has the force on his side and Walker is just lucky.

The thing is I think we could trade Jericho for an alright draft pick (alright being around the 50 mark :p).

Out Jericho
In Gill

As much as i'd love to disagree...today's game through up no arguments for what you're saying.

Only thoughts - lack of delivery didn't help and is he still being played out of position?

All I ask is that he goes in HARD! Is that too much to ask? Obviously it is with Jericho.

So many times today he was involved in 1-on-1 contests and his opponent came away with possession. Just go hard, force a contest, put your body on the line and take a freaking hit.

How is he still being persisted with? How? I am speechless, he was utterly worthless today and just when I thought he couldn’t get worse he does. And for a man with such ‘amazing skills’, why does he rarely hit a target? What about that atrocious kick inside forward fifty that didn’t go near a man, and the end result was a goal to Port?

I've had enough. It's not going to work.

The last 999,999 time you have called for his sacking I have felt he needed another go but now I am also officially fed up with Luke Jericho continually getting selected and cannot see a future for him at the club. I hear some people saying he has kicked goals against some good teams and I say SO WHAT to that – yes he has kicked them against the bottom 3 or 4 teams but we are going nowhere with his as a forward option.

He won’t go, he will play next week against Sydney and maybe the week after against Carlton but he should as he offers nothing to our long term future.

It’s time we started looking forwards to the next 5 year rather than the next 5 games that may or may not get us into the finals.

The only thing that has saved Jericho in his career has been injuries to other players.

I have no doubt that he will get dropped from the list at the end of the year, but let's remember that every club has an average player like Jericho that comes in to fullfil a certain role when there are injuries.

Crowing around are you just pulling out excuses you've heard before for other players? Because they don't seem to apply in any way at all. Seriously there is no excuse for Jericho, he has had all the chances in the world. I'm not talking about this game alone either, its his application over an extended period.
Even when he has kicked goals in the past it is simply because he fails to chase his man up the field and from a turnover he's left open to kick an easy goal.
No more games for him, gone at the end of the year, it really is as simple as that.

Exactly my sentiments.

Kennyrocks - no excuses, just thoughts and interested to hear other people's perspectives.

Roo rates him as the best kick in the team so does he offer something other than his apathetic game day efforts that we're unaware of?

Sorry wasnt having a crack at you , just sounded strange but I understand now :thumbsu:
He is a good kick yes, his talent has never been questioned, its his application, desire and hardness at the ball that let him down in a big, big way. Probably the softest at the ball in the AFL at present outside of Jason Laycock. Anyone willing to put forward other contenders?

poor effort from him today, you would expect more out of him. Could be used as trade bait.

But does anyone think by being in and out of AFL games affected his form?

Sadly (or not so, depending who you are) it is time for us to part with Luke, for all his talents etc. at his age he should be consistently holding a spot within our first 22, no ifs or buts and he should be contributing as well. He's not and hence we need to move on, put him in the tried and failed box with Mathew Smith and co.

Not that i'd expect it to happen, but would be the worst form of karma if he was delisted, nominated in PS draft and ended up being a half forward flanking gun at another team!
