How much time do we have to elevate a player before game time?

I haven't seen anything other than the article quoted in the OP but in it Mitchell says they haven't finalised the team yet.

I was under the impression that he had to be elevated before he could even be named as an emergency.

Ducks and drakes perhaps? It would seem strange to elevate him if he wasn't going to play though.

If he is just taken as an emergency, he misses out on a chance to further press his claims for selection at SD but then maybe the match committee hope being so close will drive him on. Then again who else do we have?

Exactly. I think at this stage in terms of form, fitness and match readiness it would be down to Pratt and Foster. Having said that, Fossie is lacking in fitness.

The other rookies/draftee's are either injured or just not big enough to be considered.

Hall has played well for the Sharks the last couple of weeks and throws his body at everything. But I am concerned that at AFL level he would be completely rag-dolled.

He has to be the best player to promote as it will give Harvs a chance to see what he is made of, and frees up either Hayden / Duff for the midfield.

Hope he gets a run in front of Headless...

Where is Marcus Drum at?

The bloke can play. Freo are bringing in all these other youngsters to play in defence when you've got a 22yr old first round draftee playing WAFL. Move Duffield midfield full time and play Drum in the attacking role off half back NOT in key defensive roles or defensive roles up forward.

He was going to be called up but apparently the Perth reserves have a must win game this weekend.

or in the spirit of this thread ...

He couldn't get a kick on the kickingiest day of the year if he had an electrified kicking machine.

Seriously - I am shocked at his regression this year more than any other single player. He should be kicking the door down, at the moment he is not even ringing the door bell, in fact I am not sure if he can even open the front gate.

For a KP defender not to be able to force a way into our team ...you would start to question his place if you he does not get his mojo back.

Got to get to the party before you think about ringing a bell or even opening a gate ;)

Drum seems to have really lost the plot, however my impression of him (until recent times) was that he seemed to perform well (not greatly) at any level he played. Ie. play him in the ressies and he will drop to that level. Play him in the AFL and he will lift ...

Another player to have suffered from Freo's s*&t selection policy...

He is easily the most dissapointing player on our list ATM. Like you I am just scratching my head wondering where it has all gone wrong? He was supposed to be as safe a pick as you can get. Nice size, excellent footy brain and a work ethic to match. 4 years on and he is looking like delist material

Round 22 vs Collingwood last year he had 24 disposals (17 kicks), 7 marks, 4 tackles...

Something has gone wrong over the pre-season. I stand to be corrected, but I don't think he was injured over the pre-season, so why has he gone backwards so suddenly?

Worrying...

Big congrats to Pratty, really like his hard nut work for Swans. Please god let him debut, I don't think I could handle watching Head play again!

I know Luke personally, good kid, couldn't comment on his ability, but I am sure he will be giving it his all - he has clearly shown guts being drafted to the Dockers after supporting WCE growing up... :p

It's OK. After the successes Freo will have with players from this draft, Christians will take heart in their belief that they can cure queers.

Go young Pratty, sensational! :thumbsu::thumbsu:

Finally IP got on board the bandwagon and now we're welcoming the rest of you. Saw him in the 2007 Colts GF and he won me then. Great news, I'm over the moon for him. :)

He'll be on Yarran at some stage, you would think. That should be very interesting and hopefully he stops Betts cold, given the chance.

swannies has been calling him the "new David Hart' for a while now.

I like the cut of his jib

Fair Dinkum Lachy ???

If he is like a modern day David Hart then Fremantle FC will be all the richer for it :thumbsu::)

If all these new purple bloods coming through play to their potential we may finally be building something here akin to true Fremantle football heritage....

anyhoo good luck to Pratt
