He knew how long was left on the clock, Dimma was screaming to the bench to make sure he knew. The key was for him to use all of his 30 seconds to waste time not the goal.

Not to mention, tuck, jack and vickery also missed easy shots.
Not disagreeing with what you are saying and Luke played a solid game. Do not believe he is the future, however, if he plays well then he should be in. I am just saying that when he ***** up and we lose a couple simple misses and fumbles will cost us. Anyway I do not want to take the credit away from him as he performed on Friday and for his sake I hope he can keep it up.

Thought McGuane had a great game. Best thing was that was involved in so much action. Dished off multiple times with great effect. 4 tackles, 2 goals, maybe 3 or 4 assists. I was at the game and watched the replay. Hardwick was complementary on sen as well, "he'll play plenty of games for us if he continues to complete like that"

Hope he said it loud enough for all the doubters to hear as well...keeps playing like that and the faithful sregit err tigers will be calling Lukey...The_Gun...:p...

All I ask is that he and any player pulling on the JUmper performs. One performance is not proof enough yet. Go Luke show me!

Well If he continues the next 10 like his last 10 will you be convinced. Because the facts are he is in great form including the pre- season. But Ive got a feeling a break out game is around the corner. Need to get him in my super coach team

Under the circumstances of not much game time left. Was the point that Luke kicked more advantageous to ice more time than a goal ? Given they would have to go the length of the ground and the team could flood the CFC half of the ground to make it more difficult for them to get it out of their half. In other words could Luke's point have been deliberate ? Just putting it out there.....

No. Lol. A goal and we are 10 points up with 30 seconds on the clock...... Then again you might be right.?lol.

Yep I was thinking that as I was writing my post. But....... ;)

Either way...Lukey iced the game...it was his all important tackle that helped put us into such a winning position...
At that stage the clock was still counting down as Lukey was taking his own sweet time lining up his shot on goal...
And i was looking for the MCG security...they were already in position on their haunches around the ground...
Either way it was going to make it harder for Carltoon to win...a point we lock it up in our forward line...a goal we are 10 points up...all time wasters...

Oh the irony. During the game he had is usuall tackling brain fades where he grabs them around the neck, you know the ones,... The down the field free where he's late and just swings the guy around by his neck. Then his effort on the wing where it was so high that it caught the umpire by surprise so he pays a soft evenner upper against Jackson and Jackson does the old wtf and gives away 50.
And at the end of the day when we need a super tackle what does he do.. Saves the day.
Goodluck to him. He'll have some sweet memories
Winners are grinners

No, it was a bloody ordinary kick, he has an innate ability to put a severe draw on the ball...Like Kingy he isnt safe unless kicking from point blank:eek:

its the game Luke needed IMO... the confidence he will gain will be huge, knowing he deserves his spot in the forwardline will help.

My God he is a shocking kick at goal.
Disagree tbh. He's actually a really accurate kick but the emotion would have been firing after that tackle, don't blame him for shanking it. Look at last year as an example where he would kick beautiful goals from 50m out on the boundary.

ummm..tipping that we can draw parallels with someone who also missed..i.e Yarran..I mean tigerheads here are anal..he stops the tankers in their tracks when the whole ground was thumping with pressure and they want Luke to become a ****ing plugger over the next 20 seconds? FFS, get real dudes..he held up his end in a pressure game and thats all.

Doesnt ned to do it the next 10 games mate,Doubt any player can have an extended period like that

But when you are taking the 3rd best defender against Collingwood,West coast,Geelong,Swans etc - Its his job to be the difference in at least 40-50% of these games when the A & B Fowards are marked

This doesnt just apply to McGoof , Its also applies to the rest of the team

He's doing all right so far...match saving tackles...kicking goals...contested marks...turning into a right Mc_Gun...

LOL - You say that with comparison to his Usual out put, But when we play the good teams his usual will be back on stage.

Laidler is considered by 90% of carlton supporters to be 1 of their best defenders, A Edwards kicked 4 on him in the coburg game, If that was McGoof you would of been talking him up !!

Lets see what he does when the going gets tough against the better teams in the game, If he does well - trust me i will say i was wrong and he is better player than he was ( as i have with Jake King ) But he hasnt done anything that has changed my mind about him yet and I have no doubt all of Astbury,Elton,O'Hanlon & Griffiths will pass him in the next 12 months
