Magic Mushrooms

My best experience was having them in Holland, where they're legal, with a group of friends during the day.

We practically didn't have to worry about anything. About 8 of us had them for lunch in a pub and then kept drinking beers in front of the pub all afternoon. It was absolutely fantastic :).

In Australia I'd say have them somewhere you feel comfortable and with people you like. You don't want to have to deal with situations, things can get a bit scary although that all depends on your personality, I guess.

Pretty much did the same thing in Holland. Ate them at Burger King inside a double whopper with cheese then headed back to pub to watch the 2nd half of Eng v Den Wc2002 QF.

Then wandered over to a canal bank and sat on the grass. just laughed and talked rubbish with my mates.

It was alot of fun, but there was 30 mins where I was lying on the grass and digging my fingers into the grass worrying I was going to fall off!

The last sentence above is the probably the most important. A mate freaked out the second time we did it. It wasn't fun for is missus who had to look after him when she was on it as well.

I actually have a mate of mine who took shrooms in America (legally) as part of a study to cure her cluster headaches.

It didn't work in the end, but she said it was one of the most surreal things she's ever experienced.

Are they Legal over Thailand to, right????

You can buy omelettes that are cooked with them on some of the islands. I did it once on Koh Pha Ngan but must have got some duds. Or maybe I just shouldn't have combined it with so much Sang Thip and weed.

As stated already, make sure you're in a safe, friendly environment and can stay undisturbed for many hours (if you wish) but more importantly, be secure in yourself.

Mushies can be an extremely potent, mind altering hallucinogenic and they are not for everyone.

I had some mushroom shakes in Kho Pha Ngan, and it was AWESOME! Only ushrooms I have ever had, and it was just an awesome night.

Only freakout I had was when i was walking home and there was a dog lying in the middle of the road. I thought it reared up and attacked me, when it was actually just lying in the middle of the road. I yelled and jumped, and the poor dog got frightened and ran off.

Other then that, the shrooms were great!

Also tried them in Amsterdam.

Unfortunately I got dragged into the red light district afterwards which was a pretty hostile environment to be in in that state of mind.

Once we got back to the hotel all was good though, although for every 20 mins of high, there was about 10 mins of nausea, That cycle repeated for about 4 hours.

Everybody has already said what I would have said... they aren't a party drug or anything like that so if you munch them with some good mates in a safe environment you will be fine. They are a wonderful experience and a real mind-opener.

Holland is making them illegal pretty soon if not already. Too much trouble happens when people are on them i think is the reason. should be able to find an article if you goolge it.

If you're in Melbourne, head North up High St and turn right into Eden Park (out near Whittlesea) then look for 15th Avenue and they grow on the right hand side of the road. This info is outdated (circa 1980's) and there was talk the council was spraying to get rid of them. blue:Dmoonies

Are they actually a drug? Like do they **** you up like say smoking a joint or bong would effect your lungs etc...?

You are essentially ingesting a toxin, and your bodies reaction to it is the high.

Expect nausea.

I dont like mushrooms, magic or not.

No idea why anyone would ingest a toxin into their body. You are poisoning yourself.

Certainly not something I am planning on doing again.

Technically alcohol and diet soft drinks are poison too.

Never had mushies, but have had LSD. Anyone here who has experienced both, how do they compare?

LSD is a very powerful drug and I like to liken it metaphorically to one of those one-way mouse trap cages. It looks like a great idea at first, but once you're in, their is no way out. It really makes you appreciate sobriety.

i've had them in bali twice. depending on yourself, you can sometimes become sick. i overcame that and was off tap for clost to 12 hours and i wanted to come down but you just can't, it's not pleasant after you've had your fun and want to be normal again. had them in an omelette. my friend thought she was a lizard, i had a real trip too.

my advice is don't go to bali for them anymore, you will end up best mates with schappelle. if you take some, be sure someone in your group is straight. ive never had lsd, but some say a similar experience

Cannot stand the acid thats getting around these days. You're dead right about the mouse trap analogy. The thing I hate about it is one, just when you think you can't possibly get any more out there, next thing you know, you are, and it spirals like this for a good 3 or 4 hours. Two, if you're with friends, and one of you starts getting really freaked out, it sets everyone off and makes things worse by 10.

Few years ago now. Went out Colac way and cooked them up in bake beans with a portable primus. Then started to drive back to Torquay. The car just got slower and and slower. Remember a bus passing with the passengers peering down. Told the fellow conspirator that I couldn't drive anymore.

Pulled over and we got some deck chairs out to watch the sunset. The clouds kept forming the words Sans Fran Cisco for some reason or other.

It was weird. The mate got his chair over his head and pulled it straight through his neck. We both said at the same time "how the hell did that happen".

Got dark and then it was being awake and seeing your dream at the same time. Would think something and then off it goes into images and before you know it you are in a world removed from being regularly awake.

Got back to Torquay easy later but would not recommend driving. Was on the Princess Highway in first gear for a little while without really knowing what was going on.
