I guess people see it could go one of two ways:

1. They respond well due to Malthouse and adopt his style, plus the improvement you usually get from a new coach. Proving how crap Ratten really was.

2. They are slow to learn the new game style and don't have the KPP strength to pull it off. Injuries to key players such as Waite (has already happened) could play a role.

I think the Demons will be the big improvers of 2013 and surprise a lot of people. They have;-

• a super easy draw - only 4 interstate games (including GWS, G Coast & Bris), and play only one 2012 top 8 team twice - Freo
• they get Mitch Clark back and have added Dawes so their forward line can only improve
• young Viney a good pickup, as is Rodan who will add experience and a bit of X factor
• their list starting to look OK with some of the players mentioned above and the likes of Sylvia, Howe, Frawley, Davey, Trengove & Grimes all having uninterupted pre-seasons
• Jamar will get more support in the ruck from the likes of Spencer & Gawn

I can see them playing gamnes with spirit and winning a few, and dont think a ladder position of 9 - 12 at the end of 2013 is unrealistic. I just hope they dont beat us again in round 2!!!!
