We will flog the Indians 4 zip when they tour here in 2018. Ashwin and jadejas bowling will be treated like the driving range on a sunday arvo and the indian batsmen will melt against bowling above waist high on a consistent basis.

Proud of the boys (Warner and M marsh withstanding)

Keep dreaming. If wishes were horses, beggars would ride. And Australia would win test series in India.

You had your best chance at winning in India. You won 3 out of 4 tosses. You played on only one classic Indian turning pitches that favor the home side (Test 3 at Ranchi) - in fact you got 2 out of 4 pitches that were real lotteries and ended up evening the odds in your favor. To Aus credit, they converted one of these 2 lottery tickets into a well deserved win in Pune. For the decider, you got a track that had healthy bounce and carry, and helped pace bowlers from the 1st ball till the last. India's main batsman and Captain averaged 9, while your Captain had a dream series scoring almost 500 runs. Still got beat.

For now, you just have to sit there with the taste of hard fought defeat. Slosh it around, savour it. And swallow it. while you watch the 50 celebrations of Man of the Series and world #1 Test match Bowler RavindraSinh Jadeja on an infinite loop. :P

And yes, one more thing. For the 2018 series, you "campaigners" better stick to preparing those concrete roads that you call pitches. Because if you actually offer tracks that offer some help to ANY type of bowler, pace or spin - Team India's got the bowler stocks to take advantage. Its when the tracks are total dead roads is when our pace bowlers are not able to cope up with the workload, especially since the team is used to having the spinners shoulder the bulk of the bowling. That's your only chance at winning - roll out flat tracks, and win on the back of the flat-track home bullies like Warner and Khwaja.

Loved this series and have a ton of appreciation for the way this young Australian team fought hard and competed. They made India work the hardest in this current season. The biggest compliment I can give the Aussie team, is that it was not a surprise to me that this was the case. I expected them to compete and make India dig deep and earn the win - that's what the Aussie teams have been doing ever since I have been watching cricket, regardless of the conditions. I expect to see a lot more success for the likes of Handscomb, Cummins, Lyon, Starc, Hazelwood in the future. I don't see young Renshaw as quite in the same class - I think his limited offside game needs quite a bit of work, and unless he develops a LOT more, he's going to fade away.

Sayonara Campaigners. Might be back when 2018 rolls around!

OP sounds like an Indian half way through a Boxing Day test.

Cop it for a little, but yes it will obviously be different conditions here.

Half-way through the 2003-04 Boxing day test, Sehwag had just dropped a 195 on a quick bouncy track against an Aussie team that expected to blow India away for next to nothing. So, pretending that India always play poorly in Australia is inaccurate. India were extremely competitive 3 out of the last 4 times we have toured this millennium.

2003 Steve Waugh's farewell series - we tied 1-1, and only fell a few wickets short of winning 2-1 - thanks to a missed stumping by the worst clanger ever to keep wickets for India - Parthiv Patel.

2008 - India beat Australia at Perth. And if not for Clarke, Ponting etc claiming dodgy catches - MUCH worse than the catch which Vijay is being viliifed for today, and Steve Bucknor consistently screwing India over, that series would be have a very different result.

Last tour, we barely lost the first test at Adelaide - but benching Ashwin for a rookie legspinner who hasn't played international cricket, let alone tests, was a major factor.

But the ignorant can keep pretending that India supposedly can't compete in Australia. It is the era of "alternative facts" after all.

I'd assume that Australia will win next time India tour here but suddenly based on their home summer I'd be a lot more interested to watch how their quicks bowl here than what I would in the past. I'm amazed at how much better Umesh Yadav is than when I last watched him closely. He's a totally different bowler.

His control and variety was pretty damn good.

I think a side needs to take 20 wickets at least once before you can call them competitive in a series.

Embarrassing thread though. "Wait till we play you at home" is kind of like threatening to have your dad beat someone up after losing a fight.

Will be a great series. Australia v India should be as big as Aus v England, Aus v RSA.
It should be a five test match series. I loathe the Indian cricket team. A lot of nasty pieces of trash in that side.

Will be a cracking series.

But the South African conditions means they are always a more tougher test.

OP and the first comment, really pathetic posts. Yes we lost the series but it really only hurts because we came close. Before this tour I was expecting to watch for a bit of comedy with no signs of improvement, instead I got to watch the best series in a while, at least since Pakistan vs England in England a little while ago.

Yes, we'll likely beat India at home but who really cares? It'll be the same with Sri Lanka who beat us more convincingly then India too. All I'll say is we should give India nothing when they are here, ensure we prepare pitches for our strengths, not for ratings and ensure we stay at the top of our game rather then underestimate them like they did us in Pune.
