Thought it was very revealing Mick, totally unprompted, mentioned in the post game last night that he would have Selwood in his side any day of the week. Said Selwood just wills his side across the line
I see this as a backhander to Marc Murphy who last night was pretty average, was beaten by his opponent Guthrie, and, most critically in the dying minutes fumbled the ball at the most crucial clearance. Ok it wasn't a great handball by Brick, it was a bit high, but It went straight through Marc's hands, then his second effort was poor.
The end result was Geel went forward and Selwood kicked the winning goal.
The clearance was critical. Had Marc taken possession and taken the ball into our forward line we likely would have won the game.. But he didn't.
Hard to criticize Marc given he is a very good footballer, but the cold hard reality is he is not elite, whereas Selwood is, and those dying minutes showed the difference between the two and why Mick would have Selwood in his side any day of the week
