Good to see Hannibal start preseason well.

These games are largely irrelevant but for younger players it’s a great opportunity to showcase what you’ve got.

Don’t think he’ll get many opportunities with the senior squad this year. I guess it depends on the rest of the transfer window, and any cup runs if he does stay.

At this stage I’d probably rather he go out on loan again. Either back to the championship or to a lower Prem club.

I said a while back that listen to financial journalists on the deal but no one should be listening to anyone. Literally nothing is being leaked out from Raine, Glazers, Qatar or Ineos, so it’s a closed off negotiating. When journalists tweet shit and have “sources”, they are talking complete shit to try to look like they have clout. No, they really don’t know what’s going on and don’t actually have sources feeding them “real time” information. Or any information.

Thing about these wall street rumours (and why I keep referencing them) is that usually within the next day or so the media end up publishing articles that corroborate these rumours, so they have a pretty decent strike rate, but, yeh I agree, no doubt full of shit at other times too.

Though, this could explain the sudden SJR interview expressing he is still in the race and complete silence from Qatar after open celebrations..

It does get annoying that it’s either Qatar are winning/going to be announced shortly and then reports of Ineos bidding 100% a few weeks later. The latest report might be true, which has made the report from a few weeks ago about Qatar winning a fabrication. I think we still have a ways to go and not be totally for or against Ineos potentially winning the bid. They might not.

Oh yeh, that's fair enough. I think all of us are exhausted by now.

The see-sawing nature could be down to Glazers' shifting the goalposts as they please (we may never know if this indeed was the case) but one thing is for sure, they have kept things tight during this process, so most leaks have been indeed, utter shit.
