Don't have the footage but the Mitch Duncan incident against Sydney is a carbon copy (and Duncan got off scot-free). Two players running in opposite direction at the ball, contact made to the head. Let's see if there's any consistency in rulings when a Richmond player is involved. We've already seen the cluster**** that is dangerous tackle with players getting nothing up to 4 weeks.

So what is the important difference?

Dangerfield's hit on Vlastuin in the granny wasn't even worthy of a free kick according to umps never mind a report. It would be interesting to watch if someone could post both incidents back to back.
Let's get The Player's President out and speak up about that very incident...and how in comparison...Mansell has FA to answer for!;)

I think he gets three weeks but deserves two under current interpretations. You can mount an argument for getting off too so it will be interesting.

He could have chosen to tackle and I think he could have seen that he was going to get to the ball second a fair way out.

The contact was not direct to the head imo either.

Also agree that too often players are not protecting themselves properly. Was clumsy football by both players. Neither player known for their smarts, awareness or nous.

The argument has to be that it wasn't a bump but that he was contesting the ball and simply braced for contact

From memory Brandon Ellis had a similar contest when he was playing for us in a final back in the day (maybe against GWS) where he wasn't even cited

This is pretty much 98% the Lynch case vs the Dogs earlier this season, I feel

Agree, if Mansell gets done it means the afl would rather see two players kamikaze each other rather than protect themselves. So stupid considering the whole point is to lessen injuries. Was Aish’s fault not being aware of his surroundings.

Honestly the worse decision ive seen this season thus far is Omeara getting a week for the "dangerous" tackle on that germ Spargo. Spargo literally swan dived into the ground head first to draw the free, the fact OMeara got a week for that is grossly unjust and just rubbing salt into the wound. Im a neutral and dont give a shit about Freo - but that one really pissed me off.

Who knows where this will end? On social media namely instagram, the amount of current afl players openly mocking the decision of butler getting cited was eyebrow raising to say the least!
