According to channel ten tonight Maric is close to signing for another two years and could not be happier in Adelaide.:thumbsu:

Van Berlo is contracted until 07 but is apparantly about to re-negotiate.:thumbsu:

And Mattner has reportably agreed to a new 2 year deal.

This is according to channel ten news but if true its a postive sign that two youngsters from Interstate are not doing a fergus on us.:thumbsu:

I thought Van Berlo was the one who couldn't be happier in Adelaide? Ah well, it's all good. ;)

Someone said in the brilliant and insightful "List Mgmt" thread that we better sign our 2004 draft picks up before they get itchy feet. Gibson is an Adelaide boy so there's no worries there. Maric and VB look like they are ready to sign/extend their contracts. Kinghts should be a prioirty over the next few weeks.

Someone also said that if Meeson decides to go home, we could trade Meeson and something for Sellar. Not going to happen. If Meeson does decide to go home you can bet he will go into the pre-season draft and we will get sweet FA.

I wonder where Hinge and Griffen fit into the big picture, they could be in trouble.

has that ever happened to us?
No but Springy is a pessimist by nature :D

I thin we will sing up others by the end of the season.

Club obviously rates Hinge and especially Griffin. All I have heard out of West Lakes about Griffin suggests that club rates him VERY highly and they want him to stick around. From a few bits and pieces I have heard, Griffin is pretty happy in Adelaide as well.

I've heard Watts is pretty happy in Adelaide too. Oh wait... :o ;)

I saw this also...by all reports both are genuinely happy here in Adelaide....:thumbsu:
Heard Maric is romantically involved with an Adelaide girl. Apparently, its Erin Phillips!

Not that there is anything wrong with Erin, other than she is a Port girl.

Wouldnt that be an interesting scenario come showdowns, a member of the Phillips family cheering for a Crows player.

Yep, Knights should be our major concern. Hopefully he's as happy as he seems and signs up for another few years. The longer he stays the more Adelaide will feel like home. Considering we were the team who took the gamble on him getting over his tendonitis problems, and gave him his chance, I think he will do the right thing. I hope so anyway.

I cant see Meesen screwing the club like that. I think if he does want to go home, he'll do the right thing. I think he has considerable trade value too. Geelong among others would certainly be interested. With Maric improving so quickly and promising so much, maybe Meesen could be the ace we will need to secure a high draft pick in whats looking like a boom draft. Sellar would be nice, thats for sure.

Not sure about Hinge or Griffen. I havent seen what the attraction is with either player. Both look pretty average to me. I trust the judgement of NC and AS though, so if they think their all that, thats enough for me.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. You've changed your tune now Stiff. You were outraged last year when the AFC accepted pick 16 or 17 for Fergus Watts ( pick 13 in 2003). Let's not sugar coat it, we were held over a barrell and pants on that deal thanks to the threat of the Pre-season draft..

Your ears serve you well Crowked !!

Only problem is that Erin has just left Adelaide to go play in the WNBA in the US....:(

There was a nice little piece....(news segment that is).....on Ch9 last week talking about Erin's career and her relationship with big Ivan the Terrible. They seem pretty close and intend maintaining a long term relationship.....so good luck to them..:)

Only down side for us is that Ivan is just as likely to bolt to America as he is to go home to Victoria... .

The reporter asked Erin what her dad Jabba the Hut thought of her "sleeping with the enemy" so to speak, and she mentioned that although he was a Crow.....he still got through the door at home because he plays for Port Adelaide as well..:thumbsu:

You reckon?

WNBA has a fairly short season. And Phillips will be back playing for Adelaide Lightning afterwards.

Good work by the Club, it's good to get these things over and done with as soon as possible. Now, lets get Knights and Messen's signatures as well.

True but we never lost a player through a PSD for nothing. Thats the point I was trying to make.
