I realize that Bicks is looking at a media career when he retires from playing but i was thinking just what sort of a coach Mark would make if he did decide to go down that path,
In my opinion ( & i know i'm a bit of a Bickley nut) Mark would be a success at whatever field he chooses & that would include senior coaching at an AFL level,
he is was of those rare players that team-mates, opposition players & supporters ( might have to exclude most pap supporters) alike admire & respect at the way he plays the game & how he has achieved as much as possible from his early beginnings as a SANFL player with South Adelaide & before then with Solomontown in the SGL,
One other plus for Mark is his ability to communicate with people which is a real necessity in the make-up of any top flight coaches of the past or present,

). There's a pretty established progression path these days of at least 3 years as an assistant coach at a club other than the one you played with. Those that make it from there are the ones who are an exceptional assistant and the opportunity comes up at the right time.
