Multiplat Mass Effect: Andromeda

Buggy as hell, however still fun.

NPC are all over the shop. This would be my favourite, once you setup the Eos outpost you get this drunken\drugged NPC stumbling around

I havent played much of the story, only up to the 2nd planet where there is another vault just after getting the last team member.

But love the MP, unless you get matched with idiots who dont work as a team or revive.

The relationship stuff has amused me more in this game than in the original trilogy. The ability to just randomly flirt with almost any character creates lots of awkward moments.

Had my first hook-up with the very nutty Peebee in a very unusual situation.

I've already played like 30 hours. Love this game like all the other mass effects even with all the technical issues.

Just got my ship and must say I'm bored af thus far. Apparently picks up soon. Hopefully.

Yeah i played a solid 3 hours last night and never left the space station. It dragged a bit, but so did the previous games with the citadel missions.

Starting to want to pull out my gun, but its tempered by the absolute ocd need to not miss anything

I'd recommend actively avoiding the quests in 'Additional Tasks'. It's mostly filler content and fetch quests that really don't add any value to the game or the world. There is an absolute tonne of them and it can really wreck the pacing if you get distracted chasing down '10 plant types' or scanning '5 dead bodies'.

There is enough genuine content that these additional tasks can be avoided without harming the game in any manner.

That's not how i play though, in RPG's I have to do EVERYTHING in manic OCD fashion.

And by doing so generally level up way too quick and break the game

You're not alone

I don't give a toss about achievements, but I have to compete every quest with a 100% success rate.

Cannot have fails or incomplete son my log

Played a fair bit of eos last night, and while enjoyable, man it sucks they ditched the powerwheel.

You have no control over your squads powers

Yeah, it's unfortunate and there really isn't a good justification for it.

The other thing I really don't like is that there really isn't a good vs evil dynamic in the game. My Ryder is a massive smartarse but he has no capacity to be an arseh*le.

Dunkey tore it to shreds. Will definitely avoid until it's like $5 during a Steam sale.

Wait wut

was that a modded NES Classic at the start that fits cartridges of some sort?

Like a lot of these vids the burns are truly things that are annoying about the game, albeit somewhat exaggerated for comedic effect.

I'm still really enjoying it. But jesus I made a custom character and he still looks like a legit ****

Maybe because this one got shredded by reviews they'll put the good studio to work on the next one

Yes. It's frustrating especially for powers like Pull - Not knowing when a teammate will use it, or on which enemy, and hoping you have a combo move ready to use. I reckon the combat's great apart from and in spite of this.

Mind you out in the field, I'll be exploring and suddenly hear PeeBee scream in pain. I turn around and expect to find enemies shooting at us, but it turns out she's just fallen down a crevasse again like the moron she is. Maybe the squad are just too stupid to take orders.

Hey if Preston Garvey taught me one thing it's to not take any shit from demanding NPCs!

I'm rushing through this time, and will revisit later in the year after it's been patched!

I actually dont mind this. Ive always played these type of games without using sec char instructions unless required in the story.

I figure in a real fight you dont get to mind meld and coordinate combo attacks, so it shouldn't happen in game.

Used to give me the shits in da:i at times however. Remember fighting one of the high dragons as a dps god clothy, and my tank and other two morons decided to stop attacking the big arse dragon and chase little ones instead. I didnt realise this (was watching the footy and fighting effectively on auto pilot) until big arse dragon jumped on my arse :(

My squad has legit died several times in places i can't revive them, one even died on Hyperion somehow so I ran around for ages trying to find them and cancel the red cross symbol. eventually said **** it and they self regenerated at the next cut scene. They probably fell through the floor.

I don't mind the combat either but its currently about 5% of the actual gameplay. The other 95% is listening to conversations and running around looking for a mission marker. I hope that gets skewed the other way soon
