It's true that Tippett hasn't had much of it in recent weeks, indicating that a week back in the SANFL might do him some good... Only thing I'm worried about is if he has to play a whole game in the ruck for West Adelaide... how will that help his confidence as a forward?
Lucky Porplyzia is playing injured... without him that forward line would be a disgrace (or more of a disgrace)

He’ll play ruck and pinch hit up forward as Moran did. Only things I’m worried about are him not seeing the ball when he’s forward and/or the delivery being terrible (he should be used to that, but it could be worse…)

Westies have got the bye this week. I guess Tippy will be playing ressies for bottom side South down at noarlunga.

Should be good for his confidence with regards to being able to dominate his opposition, but it’s a long drop from AFL to SANFL reserves. Still, I’ve said before that I think he’s got the type of personality that will use this in a positive way and he’ll just work his arse off to get his spot back (like Maric).

No Johncock?

By all reports has improved off field issues, so I guess 1 more week in SANFL and should be back next week.
Most said he would stay another week in the SANFL...

He should be back next week.

We have NO forward line...man Porps is in for a beauty!

Glad to hear the Victorian media is still calling him Kirk...................man they are clueless.

After some thought it's not a bad decision, given Massie has proven himself in the wet.
Rucks won't be an issue as pointed out earlier.
Need small, crumbing targets up forward if it's a wet weather game anyway - let's just hope we don't continuously bomb it long to nothing!! :thumbsu:

Carlton board think having only one ruck will be our downfall.

That's what they said last time, too. And Griff dominated. :p

Back on the selection, once again, we continue our trend of dropping a forward, despite the fact the scoring woes are supposedly down to delivery. Not that Tippett's been on fire lately, but surely you bring in someone to replace him who's a chance of getting a goal?

Kris Massie...new full forward :p

INSPIRING CHANGES!!!

Surely we're fielding the oldest team in the league?

And the fact Maric has had a fair chunk of the year as number one ruckman now, yeah no development at all this year.
:D Cause like we had so many other options right?

Maric
Griffin

Tippett
Moran

There are our ruck stucks, Griffin has been injured/out of form for about 2 months. Moran and Tippett are KPP's but not specialist ruckmen. So if Maric isn't the #1 ruckman, WHO THE HECK IS?

:D made me chuckle. They wanted him rested, but one of Walker, Dangerfield, Otten or Petrenko to come in. Seems they are damned hard to please! ;)
Had an 'ol chuckle did we jennster?

Um we are still with a chance to play finals, you don't think for guys like Vince etc who haven't played one final or have only played one final, that isn't good for their development to experience that atmosphere?
Weak argument. Douglas really benefitted from that one final in 2006 didn't he? I geuss that’s why he spent most of 2007 with Glenelg. Oh wait...

Personally I'm just happy that we've retained Campbell and Moran. Tippett will be a force for years to come but give him a rest now. We won't miss him against Carlton.

The only thing I'm really disappointed with is not having Petrenko come in. He would have had a chance to show himself off against Carlton.

Re: Tippett out Massie in

look no offence - but the Crows are here to win games - not inspire you to do what ever it is you do.

look, I actually agree with you. He could use a decent run, and a chance to get his confidence back up.

but lets not forget winning games includes next season as well as next week. if you are only ever trying to win next week, you'll be underdone come next season.

yeh, upgraded off the rookie list to not play a single afl game this year...but continuously named emergency every week like Otten, to acknowledge them on their good form.

I'd expect to see Moran and Maric on the ground at the same time a fair bit, Moran taking up residency of the turf in front of Fevola and Maric pushing forward to stretch Carlton's defence. With Tippett out, Moran will definitely spend time up forward at some stage too.

that's probably fair.

Why would the Crows look to next season when they're trying to get into finals? Neil Craig is having a serious crack at it, or are you suggesting tanking?

has romper room finished for the day?

every team always has to weigh up today and tomorrow.

I'd love to know how many rookies we've upgraded during the season and then not used. Petrenko, so far. Aidan Parker. Did Greg Gallman get an upgrade during the season last year?

Upgrading a rookie doesn't guarentee them a game at all. Some people have this myth that it means they will get a game. It doesn't mean that, it means that they have them available for selection, and if the timing, matchups, injuries or whatever are right, then they will most likley be given an opportunity.
