dont know if anyone has posted this but here is what i think:

milne v hunt
kosi (at f.f. i think) v scarlett
reiwolt (at chf) v taylor
dal santo v enright to tag him
hayes v ling
montanga v bartel (lose)
harvey v rooke to tag or
goddard v rooke in a defensive half forward role
gram v ??? maybe chappy playing in a pocket to take him out of the game and snag about 4

looking forward to Blakey taking on King
- me too. Blakey has been really good lately and he has a chance here to go BANG and lead us to a flag rather than just be lucky that he is in the team this year. I am really rooting for the bloke!

i also think king will spend time in a forward pocket trying to emulate hale.

Except that he can't take a contested mark to save himself...

Kingy isn't the type to rest up forward these days, not with Kosi to do that job.

Over the last month or so Kosi has very rarely played FF, he halved his time between ruck and a Key forward - however when he has played key forward he generally pushes up past the 50 as a lead up target and Rooey stays closer to the goals, his set shots generally occur when he is playing in the ruck and pushing forward.

I think that the loss of Dempster (which will leave quite a hole) will be filled by Raph Clarke, allowing Goddard and Gram to spend majority of time in the midfield. I reckon Ling will go to Dal Santo and Bartel will go head to head with Hayes. Having a dedicated player tagging Harvey is extremely hard due to the number of times he is rotated off the bench. From my point of view I hope that Taylor stands Riewoldt as I reckon that would be a win for us, but I think the job may go to Mackie. Where the game will be won or lost in my opinion is the small/mid forwards for both sides, clearly you guys have the cream of the crop in - johnson, chapman, stokes and Gamble and if those guys get on top it will be difficult for us, but if our forwards in Gwilt, gardiner, milne, schneider eddy and jones can make your half backs accountable then hopefully we can snag a win. For what its worth I reckon our midfield can break even with yours.

Does that mean Raph Clarke will be playing on Gaz?

Please, please, please, please let that match-up eventuate! If it does, I envision a 40 possession, 4 goal effort from the little maestro!

Milburn to Reiwoldt. Roo is too strong for Harry. If not Milburn, then Mackie. Hard to go too far here when we don't know who'll be in and out.

I'd have Scarlett stay at full back, and Mackie or Taylor at CHB no matter who St Kilda rotate through there. Reiwont definately rotates through those positions (as Mooney and Lonners do for us), so just leave our boys where they are comfortable and back them to beat their opponent at that time.

I think that's pretty much on the money. When Reiwoldt goes deep forward Scarlo will probably take him, and when when he pushes up the ground one of the half backs would take him, with Scarlett left deep on Heatley.

Also, I'm glad Blue Ouster isn't coach, if we run with three tags on Sunday I will go absolutely spare.

Geez talking about drawing your own conclusions ..... Birss or McQualter (depending on which one is selected) will get the job on Ablett. But it is more about the team effort rather than 1 on 1

i reckon you would find most weeks we have 1 hard tag (ling) and 2 run-with guys (rooke and enright) which is standard. Harry did a good job in the 2nd half on the roo when he went up the ground a bit, maybe if they are deep in the forward line then someone else can take him. i dont think mackie is the man though as i dont think on occasions he pays close enough attention to his opponent.

i reckon ling will go to hayes, leaving corey and bartel free on montanga and goddard/harvey

I don't like Hunt on Milne. Prefer Enright on him, Ling to Del Santo (always dominates him) and Corey to look after Hayes. Definitely agree Rooke MUST tag Godard. Not sure about Gram, our HFs are just going to have to take turns and make sure they watch out for him as Kelly is out.

Also doubt Kozi will spend much time at FF he seems to be doing better around the ground which should free Scarlo up.

Hunt always takes Milne, naturally as he's the most dangerous small forward. Corey will go head to head with Hayes. I don't think Thompson will worry much about Gram initially. You can guarantee Kozi is playing up forward with Riewoldt, hoping they can stretch our apparent 'weak' tall defence.

My tip will be Taylor on Riewoldt to start, Harley wouldn't want to get embarrassed again, Mackie isn't big/accountable enough and Scarlett will take Kozi in the square.

Don't know if Hunt on Milne is a given. I just don't like how much space Hunt gave him last time. Standing 15-20m in front. Yeah I know that works for Harley and Milburn but I'm not sure Hunt has the defensive awareness and reactions, etc like they do to pull it off. Or not with Milne atm anyway as he is in magnificent form. I hate him but he's been huge lately and I just think back to how Enright annihilated Akermanis and think he may be worth a try with Hunt on Schneider or something.

Well I know its a given..

Milburn didn't get away with it against Hale 2 weeks ago. Gave Hale no respect at all for the small amount of time he played on him. Do you really think Harley will play on Milne??

Enright would have most likely never played on Milne. Milne has only kicked a total of 3 goals and had little influence in his past 2 games against us.

The Hunt-Milne is a match-up that has worked in our favour in the past so I don't understand the criticism.

i agree catfan and of the 3 goals he has got home many have been in junktime?? hunt has done well and if he doesnt this time wojak could swing there. im sure kosi will be deep in the forward line and reiwolt will play up the ground if charlie g. doesnt have much of an influence. varcoe may take gram becuase kelly isnt playing. hope blake smashes king too

How is Varcoe's forward pressure? I'd be pretty happy with that match up from what little of varcoe i've seen.

varcoe is basically a defensive forward, great tackling and speed. puts on lots of pressure. pretty sure he will take gram. Also can snag a few goals.

Well, gram's running game is very important to us so that's one contest I'll be watching closely. :thumbsu:

Damn sunday, hurry up already.

hmm, i dont think so

mackie will get roo, or harley. taylor will go to chuck/gwilt

re gram: if chappy sits in a pocket, then someone else will go to him, simple. we wont let gram be tagged from his own backline.

harry did the job last time pretty well in the second half of the game, if reiwolt takes marks up the ground then that wont bother, better there than in the forward 50. no way harley will take him and i dont think gram reiwolt, varcoe definitely picked to play on gram i think.
