Scotch College was doing something along those lines in the 70's. I remember boarding with several lads from the Point Pearce, one playing for Woodville, if memory seerves.

Was the program 100% Indigenous?

Misfud on Marnbrook tomorrow??

He has chosen a pretty safe environment to give his version of events. He's probably not expecting any hostile questions.
I'll be interested to hear how he will justify his involvement in the sacking of his good friend and former colleague at St Kilda and whether he will be prepared to add any more insight.
I will also be interested in the panels questions to Misfud and to their own attitude towards Rendell's intentions and subsequent comments during that January meeting.

It could go one of two ways, it could become a Rendell bashing exercise or it could be a chance for some interesting questions to be posed....

Is Grant Thomas statement true that you laughed off the suggestion that you were upset by MRs remarks?

Were you influenced by any other person in your interpretation of what happened?

Why did it take so long to come forward?

Did you feel racially vilified by MRs remarks or were you upset moreso by the tone and intensity of the discussion?

Why did you not confront MR at a later date to discuss you grievances in private?

Do you believe he deserved to be sacked?

Will you be implementing any of his suggestions from that January meeting?

Do you expect to find the same level of cooperation from any clubs that you may need to gain advice and assistance from in light of what has happened?

And finally Do you consider Mathew Rendell to be a Racist?

I'm not holding my breath that the above will be addressed but I think it will be the one and only time he will show himself in public on this issue.

Hmmmmm!!

Poor old Jason got a guilty conscience or what???

By his "retweeting" looks like he's playing the sympathy card...

Got news for you Jase, IMO your getting your just deserts mate!!!

Old PR strategy. By doing it he can lay the groundwork to go on the Marngrook footy show tomorrow night and play the martyr card.

"Jason, this must have been such a hard time for you, standing up for what you believe in the face of such overwhelming public pressure from the uneducated on the topic"

Whe in reality, what infuriates everyone is that a man can lose his job for speaking his mind purely because another man gets to decide what is a stackable offense based on his own judgement of whether or not he was offended. That's the scary part that doesn't sit well with people in this whole thing.

Probably been said before but first time for me so though I would repeat!!!

"Between January and Rendell's forced resignation on Friday, the AFL has negotiated for several million of dollars of government grants for an indigenous program in Darwin and a significant sponsorship from Australia Post to support the league's multi-cultural programs."

That's a quote from Michelangelo Rucci (Mar 19).

Australia Post is run by Ahmed Fahour, brother of Ali Fahour who now works for the AFL as National Multi Cultural manager

This is getting alarming.
Waiting to see if any journalists have the balls to go down that route.

It's definitely not getting the attention it deserves.

I don't use Twitter; JPSauce or one of the brahs, tweet Robbo asking if he's going to look into it??

It was a scholarship for Indigenous kids I beleive. Obviously there were other type of scholarships etc. I was a young teenager from the country then, so things like the types of scholarship/programmes weren't something to committed to memory. One of the lads was a doom-mate for several years, having his bed adjacent to mine, the other lad was older and in a different boarding house, during my time time at College.

If he genuinely offended them, I've got no doubt he'd Apologise - problem being, he only found out he offended them a week ago... And Grant Thomas stated that Mifsud laughed the comments off to him.

The level of offense taken seems to have multiplied as public opinion fell in with Rendell.

Rendell has already apologised and he is also asked a sympathetic request that people and supporters refrain from making negative comments towards Demetriou, Misfud, Fahour and the Adelaide Football Club which he thinks will have a bright future ahead.

Have you not heard the radio interview on Triple M, Adelaide?

well that's that then

This is not going to disappear quickly like the AFL and AFC hope. Remember who the hero is in Australian eyes - Ned Kelly or the police? Australians dont like seeing people not get a fair go - even if they may have done the wrong thing. I for one am disgusted with the way the AFL has handled this and placed incredible pressure on the AFC - which obviously they could not handle. I dont feel as angry towards the AFC as I do towards the AFL - but I must admit I have lost a lot of faith in the club after how they handled the Bernie Vince incident and now this. Yes we dont know all the facts and Rendell may be "guilty as charged" - but where was the trial? Who was his defense attorney???? Where was due process????

AFL have clearly realised they've misread the situation; Rendell's apology strikes me as the AFL having spoken with him and made a peace offering.

If he's re-employed in the AFL somewhere, by somebody other than us, I'll be filthy.

Finally something!

Racial stereotyping & white assimilation views are not to be tolerated or supported. The damage is untold & grief undoable.
Surprise surprise, it's not the same line they were pushing when this originally broke.

Therefore - all must be well with the world - our own opinions cease to have meaning, they must now become irrelevant and we do what? Stick our heads in the sand? Wait for another injustise? Move to Melbourne - to the Hollyland - pray to the AFL administrators - God - beg forgiveness and pledge allegiance.

Yes, that must be it!

Rendell is doing what's in the best interest of a footy club he loves Roby; doesn't mean the issue is finished.

It never is. What I would like to see if you guys backing this club. Did you know that in last 24 years the Nab Cup winners, 71% have gone to play finals while 54% have made the prelim. Look at what West Coast did last year from an ever worse position.

And in the meantime allow yourselves the freedom to read on the history of this country and what it represents. There is a lot interesting will things you would find out. The Australian Indigenous culture is an amazing culture, suspected to the oldest in the world at around 50,000 years old.

sounds like Jason is gradually assimilating into the AFL

and let's ask Cyril Rioli about the untold damage he suffered at Scotch and Hawthorn

I wonder if he was offended by Hird and Roos? Surely he would have been. Suggesting that Aboriginal people are going to be phased out of the league is far worse than Rendell's comments.

How come Vlad did not demand these guys look for another job?

It has also been suggested recently by James Hird and Paul Roos that indigenous players will be phased out of the game because they lack endurance.

And yet Hird is still coaching at Essendon.

Roby are you in a call centre in Bangalore? Has Vlad outsourced the PR?
