I know there's a lot of knockers - and let's be honest - he's certainly deserved the criticism at times. He just ran hard, had no awareness, got run down a lot and made poor choices with the ball.

This year he's slowly improved - he's gone from doing one or two nice things - to doing four or five. He works his arse off - chases hard. What I like is when he streams away from the back with ball in hand and makes good choices by foot - they're normally thumping kicks. An example is that dish from 50 to Jack in the goalsquare last week.

Today was brilliant in the wet - harassed the opposition and broke hard when we had the ball. His ability to keep his feet changed the momentum at times.

When he plunged into a contest in the fourth - extracted the ball and handballed it out to a team-mate I was genuinely excited - if he can go in and win his own ball and then burn off opponents when he has it - he will continue to be given games.

I really like him as a high half forward who can be added to the midfield rotation.

Keep going Whitey :thumbsu:

And it was only a few years back he won our most improved award. Last week Matty Loyd (i know he is a goose) said if you arnt good enough to make it as a quality inside player, you need to develop a super tank and speed to make a name and survive. Thats one thing White has. Probbably the best down Punt road. Last week his goal and his set up of Jacks (last goal i think) were all class. Add to White is King. His shut down on Pearce was terrific adding to his game againsed Davey last week.

The thing that's most impressed me is that he's starting to make good decisions with the ball - his positioning is still a little off but he has the pace to make up for it.

The hunger and intent have been there every game he's been in the seniors - and I'm really enjoying watching him grow a little bit more as a player every week.

I've always been a fan of White. The way he runs and breaks the lines he can be a very good player. What he doesn't have in skill he makes up for in passion and determination. That being said coming into this season he really had to step up and show something more. To now he has been ok. Today he was great, probably his best game since the Brisbane game in 08. He is clearly one of Hardwick's favourites and he has to build on today's performance. Keep it up Whitey

Has played good footy for the last few weeks. Still playing for his career, So good luck to him for the rest of the year.

White played his best game in ages today. He seemed to make space for himself and run a bit, when others were just jamming it on the boot. Lets hope for some consistency from him, I think he can make it he just needs to keep up on what he did today.

Just about the best game I have seen the boy play. Was fantastic. His ability to keep his feet, his strength not to mention his ability to take the game on was sensational.

Thought he's been treading water the last couple of years but if he can keep up todays effort he will make it.

Been good the last three weeks, although will probably always be a bit of a burst player. Most impressive thing about him was the way he kept his feet all day.

Jake King was also good today following a good job last week. Both weeks he has shut down his opponent and used the ball well. Not sold on him yet but he may be starting to learn his limitations.

it was also nice to see him only give away 1 free instead of 4 or 5 like usual

Good thread, nice to see Whitey get some kudos. He's been good the past two weeks and was superb today in particular.

I hope he can keep improving as I like the cut of his jib.

yea so tru man, i have been one of those saying lets get rid of him over the last few years but with what i have seen of him in the last couple of games i want him to stay!

Seemed to turn the corner against the Hawks. His ability to keep his feet and generate enormous pace in those conditions yesterday was truly astonishing. Seems his childhood dream of being a Tiger star are not just pie in the sky.

The question the keeps coming to my mind is are our new coaches now able to get the best out of these guys?

Im sure there are a lot of people here that will not agree (and maybe they are right) but it seems like a few guys such as White and Connors (earlier this year was going great) have turned a corner under Hardwick.

For years we have been blaming our poor development on the failure of our high draft pics, surely if you change your whole coaching staff (except Campbell) then you are changing our ability to develop players.
