Lol is this a joke, Brent Harvey is a champion of the game, just because you have some personal problem with him you think he can't chase a games record (even though he isn't) while still playing fantastic footy at 38 and a big part of helping his team back into the finals this year, But Pav is allowed to even though he's well past it? Should get to retire on his own terms but thinking about it he was probably persuaded into a final season after the talks with GWS for McCarthy went nowhere and there was no real plan B in place.

I've got no doubt that him playing is benefiting Taberner and I'm glad that Taberner has played more games because as much as he is a bit of a whipping boy I can see something there for Freo to work with.

As for who on there list would replace him I'd probably say Tanner Smith is best suited, although Apeness needs to get something into him as well

He's kicked 8 goals from 10 games this season, that's deplorable.

Mayne is a shadow of himself from I think it was 2013 and 14. Tackle pressure is great but needs to hit the scoreboard to.

A fit Shane Yarran would be much better suited in terms of attacking power but may lack the defensive edge that RTB would want

And yet, when you point out to them that 8 of their Best 22 are 30 or over, they're in complete denial that those players aren't about to fall off the cliff themselves, just like Pav has.

Last year Pav had patches of career best form... yet in the space of 7 or 8 months, he looks like he'll struggle to see out the year.

From my own club, Ivan Maric was easily our #1 ruck until this season, but he's been on struggle street as well, and probably won't play on in 2017.

If a great like Pavlich can fall off the cliff, you can guarantee that Petrie, Waite, Dal Santo, Firrito, Wells, Thompson, and Gibson will at some point soon as well! (Harvey probably won't, but he's the exception to the rule)

If he has been training for a while and he can run out a game then why not bring him in. A couple of games in the reserves should be enough so long as he isn't in any pain and is moving freely.

He is the opposite of a forward option at the moment, he's hindering them by being slow an off the pace, they could've blooded a kid who would've done exactly what he is doing, except with an upside

We don't have any tall forward kids to blood, which is why Pavlich chose to play on. We are already playing the only other available Tall Forward on our list (Taberner). The other option was Michael Apeness, but he did a PCL last year and we knew he wouldn't be available until at least halfway through the season if at all, which is why Pavlich was asked to play on.

Yes it would. These boneheads don't understand how important he is for leadership and structure. Pav doesn't play Saturday and Tabs gets double teamed at every contest and doesn't play his best game for the club. He didn't sign on another year to quit at the halfway mark.

Kinda sad that our match committee couldn't work that out for the last 3 seasons when Pavlich got double teamed every week because we refused to pick a 2nd tall.

It's not our match committee's fault our recruiting staff have done a terrible job at identifying talented KPP. This should have been addressed through the draft but we were too busy throwing offers at blokes who were never going to come to Freo like Cloke and Buddy, our lack of taking talls at the top end of the draft has come back to bite us if anything.

Let's rush a long term injury player back so we can compromise their health and confidence.

I've never said he should retire, Just don't see why aiming for milestones is important. There are better reasons to why he should play on.
