latest report is that melbourne are more keen to offload johnstone and that miller is well regarded by the new coach, is going to be a lot more difficult to trade for, which means it's more likely someone like schneider or buchanan would be offered

it seems almost certain now mattner will come to us

Best of luck to him. I've been a big supporter of Neil Craig but I am furious at how badly he has played Mattner out of position. Ruined what was looking to be one of the best pure wingmen in the league.

White appears to be some way off (but is a huge talent none the less and will get his chances) and looks like being used as a Full Back, while Grundy is certain to stay with a long term future as a forward. But those are only two players, with Vogels likely to be cut. So I can see why we would be interested in Miller - direct replacement for Vogels on the list (and a better, younger one at that).

Can play both end's of the ground and would add to our KP depth outside the starting 22 with Foulks still developing as a Tall Defender. So if we get Miller and draft 2 KPP Tall's that would be 6 KPP's on the list that would be considered backup's (ie. not in the senior 22). Young group, that can develop - can't see the issue with that.

Sydney - as a first move - is offering a third-round draft pick for Mattner, who reportedly has been tempted by a three-year contract from the Swans.

But Adelaide - after dismissing former South Adelaide ruckman Stephen Doyle, 26 - wants at least a second-round draft pick.

The Swans are reserving this for out-of-contract Melbourne key position player Brad Miller.
